Foxy Brown Talks About Her "Clyde" Jay-Z+Event Fab+Movie Fab

Foxy Brown (that's one of her pics from her Sept. 08 XXL spread) is talking about how her relationship with Jay isn't what it used to be and how she missed him.  And if there was any doubt he ever tapped that, gone ahead and erase it.  Here's a snippet from her XXL cover story: It's often been speculated that Foxy's heart belonged to a former partner in rhyme who went on to become her boss. She remembers when Brooklyn producer Clark Kent rolled up to her block in a white Lexus and introduced her to a tall, skinny guy with a cane. "He was so smooth. His swagger was just incredible," Foxy says. "From that moment on, Jay and I became Bonnie and Clyde," she says. Fifteen years later, on Broken Silence's "Fallin'," she raps, "If I was to die, be too many cowards alive/Fox Brown, Bonnie minus the Clyde." "IT WAS LIKE 'I NEED YOU TO HELP ME SAVE MY LIFE,' AND [JAY-Z] JUST WASN'T THERE." "A lot of things have happened over the years between Jay and I," she says of the man who signed her to a multimillion-dollar deal at Def Jam in 2005, nine years after their classic duet "Ain't No N*gga" gave him his first radio hit. "But there's an unbreakable bond that will never die. 50 wanted me to be part of his team so bad. He was like, 'Look, I'll do it with Jay, half and half.' And, of course, Jay said no. At one point, 50 asked, 'Why do you have so much loyalty to this N*gga?'  Jay and I have history. There are things that he could have done better, as far as his loyalty to me, and I'm sure I've made mistakes that he felt he could've prevented." Foxy chokes up. "When I lost my hearing, Jay gave me the respect to go heal myself. He stuck with me along the way. But there are times when I just really needed him, and it wasn't even about Foxy Brown and Jay-Z. It was just like, 'I need you to help me save my life,' and he just wasn't there." The tears are streaming down her cheeks. "I would never denounce him in public. That's just how I feel. But I've been incarcerated for eight months, and Jay's been everywhere, and he hasn't mentioned one thing about, 'Tell her I love her. Tell her to be strong.' That broke my heart more than anything. When they sent me to jail, I just knew he would be there-everyone came. But he never showed up... My mother always says, jay also said this,in the tru life freestyle 'Inga, when a person shows you who they are, believe them. Been showing me all through the years and you just don't wanna believe it.'"   Oh Inga.   Pics of Terrence Howard and Jaslene at events and the new Soul Men movie when you read the rest...

Rihanna Talks About Fashion & Her Complexion

Here's the rest of the Rihanna's InStyle spread from the August issue hitting stands July 17th:

She rocks a Bill Blass blouse and Catherine Angiel necklace in this cover look.

One of my fave looks--she pairs a Valentino dress with Gucci leather booties. A Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci gold-plated necklace completes the look.

For a fall look--Rihanna sports a Chanel tweed vest, Helmut Lang jeans, and jewelry from Chanel and MCL by Matthew Campbell Laurenza.

A Rose Anne de Pampelonne necklace and Chrome Hearts belt add a modern touch to Rih Rih's feathery Fendi frock.

And here she rocks a hot pink Emanuel Ungaro silk-nylon jacket, BCBG Max Azria dress, and sexy Emanuel Ungaro eelskin heels. [In Style's August] issue is all about breaking entrenched rules of fashion and design. What are some rules you'd like to crush? "The idea of not wearing brown and black together seems so dated. The other day I wore a black T-shirt, black Nobody jeans, a brown leopard-print belt by Dolce & Gabbana, and brown Giuseppe Zanotti shoes, and it looked awesome. Also, the rule about not matching your makeup to your outfit. I do that onstage, matching red lipstick to a bright red jacket or neon-pink eye shadow to a pink jumpsuit. And I also love to mix prints. We've had the Meg, the Jennifer, and now people ask for the Rihanna at salons. Will you be switching it up again? "The first time I heard people were asking for the Rihanna, it was really flattering and maybe a little strange. It caught me by surprise, but now I feel it's a very cool thing. I don't feel the pressure to change it up again at all. I like it, as they like it." Can you talk about your style obsessions and how your look has evolved over the years? "It has evolved without my even noticing it. Lately I'm obsessed with Thierry Mugler... Grace Jones inspires me. She is the most iconic woman ever, in my eyes. She has extraordinary style and she's fearless. I love designer Martin Margiela; Kanye West told me about him. I also like Dsquared, Chloe, Zac Posen..." But you weren't always a fashion maven? Growing up in Barbados, you were a tomboy. "I wore my brother's clothes, dresses with sneakers, or no shoes at all. I would always get into trouble with my mom. She would say things to scare me like, 'You're going to get cut!' But I couldn't help it. I would climb trees, steal mangoes, catch birds--silly things that were fun to us at the time. My cousin and I were the only girls in the group. We would have to stand up for ourselves because the guys didn't want us around." You stood out in Barbados because of your light complexion. Do you remember having trouble fitting in at school? "Definitely. It made me angry. For the first six years of school, I would go home traumatized. The harassment continued to my very last day of elementary school. High school was better."   The rest of the Q/A when you read the rest...
