Rayshard Brooks – the black man fatally shot by a white police officer in a Wendy’s parking lot – is being laid to rest at the historic Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta. Deets from his service, plus new details about the white woman who was caught setting the Wendy’s on fire inside….

Last week, 27-year-old Rayshard Brooks – a father, husband, uncle, nephew and son – was gunned down by a white police officer in a Wendy’s parking lot. The police had been called on Rayshard after he fell asleep in the Wendy’s drive-thru line. The result of their interaction was Rayshard being shot twice in the back as he was running away from the officers following a scuffle.

Today, his wife Tomika Miller (pictured alongside his casket above), his kids, family and friends gathered to say their final goodbyes. Family and friends celebrated his life in Atlanta’s historic Ebenezer Baptist Church today after a public viewing the day before. Ebenezer Baptist Church is the church Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. served as co-pastor for years back in the day.

People who wanted to pay their respects were allowed to view his body yesterday. Making a grand entrance, Rayshard’s body was brought in a gold casket with pallbearers who wore “Here 2 Serve” t-shirts. His casket was open for the viewing.

Here’s video of his gold casket being brought inside the church below:

Tyler Perry offered to pay for the service, according to a Brooks family attorney. Today's service was a private affair that a few notable people attended, including MLK's daughter, Rev. Bernice A. King, as well as Rev. Raphael G. Warnock - the senior pastor at Ebenezer Baptist, who delivered the eulogy.

Former officer Garrett Rolfe was reportedly brought up on felony murder charges and could face a possible sentence of life without parole or the death penalty. The former police officer was fired from the police department after fatally shooting Rayshard. Former Officer Rolfe was also charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and violations of office. The second officer - Devin Brosnan - faces three charges, including aggravated assault for standing or stepping on Brooks' shoulder after he was shot. -

There are new developments surrounding his case...

Remember video footage of a white woman starting the fire at the Wendy's Rayshard was killed at? Well, according to reports, the woman who started the fire could possibly be Rayshard's girlfriend, Natalie White. Now, she's possibly faceing years behind bars for arson.

Reuters reports:

Investigators have issued an arrest warrant for Natalie White on suspicion of arson in the first degree, the fire department said in a statement. She is suspected of involvement in the torching of the restaurant on June 13 as protests erupted after Brooks, a 27-year-old Black man, was fatally shot by a white police officer.

Brooks repeatedly referred to a “Natalie White” as his girlfriend the night he was killed, according to video footage from the body camera of one of the officers at the scene. A representative for the Atlanta Fire Rescue Department declined to comment on whether officials were investigating a relationship between Brooks and the suspected arsonist, saying in an email, “We are not releasing any additional information at this time.”

The investigation is ongoing and officials are seeking information on White’s whereabouts and any other details about the incident, the fire department’s statement said.

In bodycam footage, Rayshard mentioned he had a girlfriend named Natalie White:

It's still unclear if the Natalie in the video is the girlfriend of Rayshard.

Last week, Rayshard's wife and kids were surprised with a new car - a Ford Escape, plus life insurance for their three children 8-year-old Blessing, 2-year-old Memory and 1-year-old Dream. He also had a stepson, 13-year-old Mekai.  Not only that, Rayshard's children also received full rides to attend Clark Atlanta University. Nice! The family can thank Slutty Vegan owner Pinky Cole and Big Dave's Cheesesteaks owner Derrick Hayes - two ATL restaurants.
