Missy Elliott Just Blessed Us With New 'Iconology' EP & 'Throw It Back' Visuals

It's Friday and Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliott just blessed the masses with a new EP and video. It's been a long time coming, but it's here. Stream her new ICONOLOGY EP and check out her funky new visuals for "Throw It Back" inside...

Hip Hop heads rejoice! One of our musical icons just dropped some new bops and a new visual ahead of receiving the highest honor at this year's MTV Video Music Awards.

Fourteen years since her last album, Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliott just released a new EP legitimately titled, ICONOLOGY. The five-track EP features production from her longtime collaborator/homie Timbaland, Wili Hendrix, and, of course, herself.

She said she wanted to "#ThrowItBack to a time when music just felt good and made us want to dance!" and that's exactly what she did.

You can stream ICONOLOGY below:

By the way, ICONOLOGY is already flying up the music charts:

In addition to the new music, the Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee (the first female rapper to ever do it) also released a new video for her song, "Throw It Back," serving up her signature "Missy" visuals we've all come accustomed to, yet, still innovative and fresh. She collaborated with producer Wili Hendrix and writer Michael Aristotle of East Chain Records.

Oh, and she's snatching wigs to the SCALP:

Missy released her new EP and video right before she's set to receive the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the MTV VMAs. It's set to air Monday, August 26th at 8pm on MTV. Before the show, MTV is hosting an interactive pop-up museum that will celebrate all things Missy. Get those deets HERE.

Thanks Missy for the weekend bops!
