Beyonce Hits Saturday Night Live+Wanda Sykes Comes Out

Beyonce hit the "Saturday Night Live" stage last night. Check out her skit with Justin Timberlake and others:

Dance bisquits. Hilarity.

Wanda Sykes has officially come out and told the world she is gay and got married to a woman recently. She was divorced from her husband years ago. She spoke out against Prop 8 (a law just passed in California stating that a a state can ban gay marriage) and says she feels like it's an attack on her and her sexuality:

“You know, I don’t really talk about my sexual orientation. I didn’t feel like I had to. I was just living my life, not necessarily in the closet, but I was living my life. Everybody that knows me personally they know I’m gay. But that’s the way people should be able to live their lives. Now, I gotta get in their face. I’m proud to be a woman. I’m proud to be a black woman, and I’m proud to be gay.”

Props to Wanda for speaking out and not being afraid to do her. Video of B performing "Single Ladies" and "If I Were A Boy" when you read the rest...

I don't see why Beyonce always acts so innoccent and then shows up on her music vidios half naked and dancing nasty. I mean come on. Thats just rediculous. If she is really so good she wouldn't need to do that to seem so hot and cool.

I MEAN REALLY, IF BEY IS SLAPPIN THE BLACK COMMUNITY IN THE FACE THEN YA'LL REALLY NEED TO GET IT TOGETHER. I MEAN ITS OKAY FOR ALL THESE BLACK RAPPERS TO ACT ALL IGNORANT ON T.V. AND TALK ABOUT HO THIS, HO THAT, SUCK MY DICK THIS, SUCK MY DICK THAT, AND GOD KNOWS WHAT ELSE BUT BEYONCE IS THE ONE SLAPPIN THE COMMUNITY IN THE FACE...GET REAL....YA'LL SUPPORT LIL' WAYNE SINGING ABOUT A GOT DAMN LOLLIPOP, BUT IF BEYONCE SINGS ABOUT BEING A "DIVA" THEN SHE'S WRONG? YOU SUPPORT SOULJA BOY RAPPIN ABOUT A MEDIOCRE DANCE, AND IF BEYONCE DOES A FULL OUT DANCE VIDEO FOR "SINGLE LADIES" AND SHE'S CALLED A WHORE?! WTF! PEOPLE REALLY NEED TO RE-EVALUATE THEMSELVES. HAVE YA'LL EVER THOUGHT THAT IF YOU WOULDNT LISTEN TO, DOWNLOAD, OR BUY THAT TYPE OF MUSIC, THAT THEY WOULD PUT SHIT LIKE THAT OUT? HELL NO. THE MUSIC INDUSTRY IS A BUSINESS JUST LIKE ANY OTHER. THEY ALL ABOUT THAT MONEY. THEY GONNA PUT OUT WHAT MAKES THEM MONEY. SO IF YA'LL DUMB ASSES WOULD WAKE THE FUCK UP THAT ITS ALL UP TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC TO CHOOSE WHAT THEY BUY AND SUPPORT THEN YA'LL WOULD REALIZE THAT. Beyonce killed that

Beyonce killed that performance, that's why she's the Queen Bee. Who else can sing and dance at the same time and sound flawless? Not to mention she did it in those high ass heels. I'm so sick of these supposed "singers" today who sing two lines and are all out of breathe and off key. Beyonce's concert was the best i saw all year; girl kept it coming strong for two hours. I've seen Rihanna live and that shit was boring as hell. It takes more then showing up, looking cute, and half assing your way through a performance. On a side note I have high hopes for Janelle Monae, she looks to be the creative and talented artist RiRi should have been. hah how did that turn into a "I hate Rihanna" rant... oh well, shit's real.

What I meant was, they all have done things or have had things done to them that they or their fans may not be proud of, but that didn't take away from their iconic and legendary statuses or make them bad people. But, I compared their plights to Beyonce to also show the poster how flawed her statement was because she's bashing Beyonce when she's never been through anything of the things these women have, yet she's trying to tear Bey down for nothing and say she's undeserving of her accolades. I was showing her everyone's human and makes mistakes, but the person isn't any less talented.

Prop 8 doesn't say that a state has the right to ban gay marriage. It changes the state of California constitution to define marriage as being between a man and a woman which essentially revoked the right for same sex couples to marry, which was granted by the supreme court. the voters had already rejected gay marriage once before. Just had to clarify that.
To
To Claudette: Your post was very interesting. You say that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but taking away a person's right to marry is going far beyond just stating an opinion. You also say that some people are not comfortable with gay marriage. Okay, but what does that really have to do with you? If there came a point where gay marriage was legal, then would that mean that you'd have to turn gay all of a sudden? Or let's say that you wanted to get married to someone of the opposite sex (if you aren't already), do you think that would somehow not count or not be recognized because you and you're spouse aren't gay? I mean, I just don't understand why some people think that homosexuals or gay marriage is going to change their world. Gay people have existed on this Earth for centuries, and believe me that has not affected your life one bit? You didn't automatically turn gay, just because there are gays roaming the globe. You have the right to be with, or marry, whomever you want to marry. And you have all of your other civil rights. So, again, why would this whole thing be so tragic to you and yours? And then you say that your children would be affected by this whole thing? How? I mean, they are YOUR children, aren't they? Are you afraid that if the gay "lifestyle" became more mainstream that they'd turn gay or something? Do you really think it works like that? Or do you think that if the "lifestyle" stayed silent then no one else in the world would ever be gay again? But, one of the most amazing things you stated was that only God can judge you in the end. Well, if that were true, then why are so many people taking it upon themselves to make these judgments? But, then you also stated that if God wanted gays to be together then it would be easier to argue these points. Seriously? You don't think that the people who wanted to justify American slavery argued your same point? Or that people who made interracial marriage illegal didn't argue your same viewpoint? Or that men who felt that women were inferior to them wasn't a viewpoint that was argued in the same way? And lastly, the point that the original poster was trying to make about atheists not being given the right to marry was made because the other poster tried to state that gays supposedly "don't believe in God," or God's teachings, since they want to get married. But, last I checked, atheists don't believe in God or any story from the Bible; so if marriage is such a holy and sacred union created by God, then why are atheists allowed the right to marry? I mean, an atheist getting married would mean that they don't take all that stuff seriously; they are just doing it because they simply want to be legally recognized as spouses and they probably want the benefits that come along with it. Oh, and I think that homosexuals want that too. So, marriage is supposedly sacred, right? How's that? It seems like the only criterion for marriage has to do with gender? Okay, so that's it? I mean, what else is so special? And if this holy, God-made union was so sacred, then why are so many heterosexuals getting divorces? Or being adulterers? Or not getting married at all? I mean, why just GIVE this sacred privilege to a group of people (heterosexuals) that don't seem to care that much about it?
To the first section of your post that states gay marriage doesn't affect others, I reply: SODOM & GOMORRAH!! Now THAT definitely affected more than just gay people. If someone doesn't believe in God but enters into an institution that was made and ordained by God, isn't that his/her choice? No one is forcing that upon them!!! If marriage is a so-called sacred institution that the straight people don't care about, what makes Gays want it so bad?

People are going to be gay anyway. You can't STOP them. I don't believe in it but if they have to answer to God then let them handle their own lives. I get tired of people being so harsh on how other people are living. That's why the DL was a problem. Brothers were too afraid of being who they really were and many women were hurt behind. I got chewed out by a woman from church who was angered by this. I'm like look none of us have died and seen Jesus to know how he feels about all this so let them live. Go wanda go!
Darling...your post is so spot-on, that i'm stealing it and adding it to a discussion about Prop 8 that i'm having with family. Don't worry; i'll credit you. Keith Olbermann would be proud of you!

That skit was friggin

That skit was friggin HILARIOUS! JT is funny as hell! That's my boy. And to that person who said he looked comfy in heels uhm....there were two other dudes who looked pretty comfy in em too. Can you say practice makes perfect? Stop hatin. Beyonce killed it with Single Ladies performance. Sorry but If I Were a Boy was too cliche and Mariah-like with the fans. That's too 90's lookin even for you Sasha.

I also justh ave to say lmao

I also justh ave to say lmao @ the person saying Beyonce was half naked and gyrating like a stripper. Have you never seen ballet dancers wear a leotard, what about Alvin Ailey dancers performing African inspired routines, dance girls?? Beyonce had on a full zip up shirt vest with a leotard..and that's crazy. People will find anything to criticize, when they are living in a glass house with their shortest dresses in the closet. It's getting ridiculous now. Then to mention Tina and Diana, when they both had scanitly clad performances. Hell Tina was known for her LEGS, as well as her voice. People are starting to reach in every direction to discredit Beyonce. You don't have to like any or everything, but don't randomly throw things out there that have nothing to do with the performances. Don't try to make Afro-centric critiques like you're a relative of W.E.B Dubois or Marcus Garvey, it's never that serious. If you're going to hate be accurate, and not sound foolish. Either way, great performance from Beyonce. Leotard and all.

Beyonce gave an excellent

Beyonce gave an excellent performance on SNL. Loved the skit. It was so hilarious, JT is a fool for "we are the dancers". That was a great take of the video. haha. The performance of IIWAB was grand. Everyone on here knows she OWNED Single Ladies. That stage isn't big, but she worked every part of that stage. She had the vocals, the dance moves, and was working it with a LIVE BAND....a live band, not a backing track. Her harmonies, and everything was great. Those who criticize should really look at all of the elements and hardwork that goes into a performance such as this one before you start critiquing all crazy. Beyonce works hard, and is amazing at delivering great vocals, and passionate performances IMO.

I am white, and I like the Sasha Fierce CD. Why does it have to be "the black side"? Ego, Sweet Dreams and Single Ladies are the business. It's a new era, and people need to open their eyes. I check out the YBF cause I am gay, and I like me some cute African American menz! Black boys be bringin' it!

I really do not understand why gay people want to overturn prop 8. Marriage was something that was created by God and if you do not believe in Him or want to live according to His purposes, why do you want to be married so bad? I am not trying to judge the gay lifestyle, people can do what they want, but to want something that God created for a man and a woman is ludicrous. And I'm tired of hearing we thought b/c a black man was president he would be for gays getting married. Obama believes in civil unions b/c what people really want is the rights that you are given if you are married.
I concur!!!
I also concur and someone posted something about maybe atheists shouldn't get married because they don't follow the bible umm hello they are specifically talking about gay marriage so if you are a gay atheist than this applies to you but otherwise there are still A LOT of people that don't agree with gay marriage and I am one of them. I think people can be with whomever they want because in the end God is the judge so there's nothing anyone can do about two people wanting to be together but everyone does not have to be for gay marriage and if you're not that doesn't mean you are hateful or even some strong religious person I know a lot of people that do not support gay marriage that are not even religious they just think marriage should be between a man and a woman period. I think if it was God's plan for people of the same sex to be together than it would be a lot easier to argue their points you would be able to conceive however you want but we know that's impossible you need a man and a woman to conceive. You would be able to get married and take advantage of things that heterosexual couples can but that's not how it works there is something greater than the supreme court and congress behind this we must acknowledge this fact. So when it comes to marriage I believe that we should keep it sacred and the idea of family should not be so drastically altered just to satisfy a group of people's beliefs and wants sorry but that's my opinion we are all entitled to one that's what's so great about this country. The reason why proposition 8 was passed wasn't because California is this Red discriminatory state that hates gays and everything else but because people got into the polling booths and voted for what they feel is right and everyone is not comfortable with being apart of changing what marriage means to their children and themselves.
I just wanted to clear something up because I think you misunderstood the girl's point when she mentioned atheists. The original poster said "Marriage was something that was created by God and if you do not believe in Him or want to live according to His purposes, why do you want to be married so bad?". So, by her logic, atheists don't have the right to want to get married, same as gays/lesbians, because they don't believe in God. I think she was just trying to show the original poster the error in her logic/statement.
ok gotcha

Also a lot of them are finacially well off, live very well and tend to be very organised and politically astute about issues that concern their lives.
dunno. maybe true for some segments of the homosexual community (i.e. affluent white gay men, b/c a) white privilege & b) being a "man's world", but that ain't new). but definitely NOT true for my black gay cousin, nor his black gay and lesbian friends. they're all just trying to work and survive (some with kids to raise) like everyone else.
