And The Next Top Model To Never Get Work Again Is...

So America's Next Top Model Cycle 9 is over and I didn't watch nan one of these episodes this cycle.  Clearly my interest fully waned around Cycle 5 when Bre got straight played.  Yeah I'm still bitter.  And this ish just got more and more whack every cycle.  But anyways, last night a new ANTM model was crowned.  And the winner is.... Saleisha.  I know nothing about this chick but she does look like she was killin' it in her photos: Fabulous.  Congrats to Saleisha.

WANT YOUR OWN AVATAR? GET IT HERE.

I got one thing to say if

I got one thing to say if ebony would have stayed and went up against saleisha would tyra and the crew have picked ebony think about it. ebony did not like no one telling her anything yes that might have been true but would she have lost because of her dark skin thats why she left she was worrying about that and her skin thats why she left thats my opinion and i have a right to state it. I seen it happen before they are looking for some one that can go world wide the very dark skin girl that janice discovered they had no choice but to book her and she became top model because they wanted to hide the race card. at first one man told her its hard to book you remember that or do you want me to rewind the taped show. tyra had problems in the past they always thought naomi looked better when she didn't by ebony leaving the show made it look bad on dark girls she should have stayed to represent the darker skin you people on here know in life we come last even with our own race. so please don't try to pretend this is not happening because it is thats why tyra said come on black people to the ignorant person that responded to her. I have excellent face features and i'm a beautiful black girl i'm just dark so that makes me unattracted to blacks in america i was welcome to the real world at 3 years old i was never called out of my race by a white person the person was always of color or not white origin so what that tells you saleisha has her lightskinned beauty pass if she was dark it would of never happend. even the black judge wanted the white girl to win. no one to blame but blame our selves to all my black people that want a chance in the world or is this to powerful for you to except. eva won yes eva is not dark skinned she is brown brown enough to go light. and by the way i live in new york city a so called deverse place that claims the city is not based on skin tone well head on over to times square.

It is easy to bring others

It is easy to bring others down once you have been brought down honey. But don't give in, the Lord had blessed women who want to model with a TV show like this one and now its there chance to make it. Dont be full of hate becuase you are not there. I bet you tried out for the show and didnt make it huh? AAAWWW its okay, just keep trying and you too can be America's Next top Model!

Seleisha won because she was

Seleisha won because she was supposed to win. Period. Like some have pointed out, America does not monopolize what is fashionable. So, the judges and the modeling agency selected who they felt could get hired on a regular basis. It wasn't rigged. Maybe, Tyra did know Seliesha from T-Zone , but it is possible that she noticed something in her, that said Model. So, stop hating. Looking at the photos, the girl was photogetic, and she had a tight walk. Plus, her personality was non-threatening and sweet. It amazes me that black women hate on another black woman's success. Is it because we have been brainwashed for centuries that we are less than dirt? Is it because we subconciously feel that we are not as beautiful as a white woman or latina? Is it because we listen to black men views of beauty and feel that if we embrace our looks, than we are not attractive? It's really sad that the majority of black models would have to go overseas to make it big because our black culture tell black women , you're not good enough, because the white American culture says that you are not good enough. I'm just glad a black girl won, this girl has an opportunity to model, whereas the white girl could easily be picked up by a modeling agency, because they are always looking for a white model. Did anyone ever think that's why Tyra is picking more black girls. And it doesn't sound right, but until society changes where everyone is treated equally, than black women in particular should embrace success, no matter what.

If you call what Toccara does

If you call what Toccara does "work"...whack! YaYa has been killing it. I see more of her than the actual grand prize winners themselves! Naima who? I've seen Bre in several issues of Essence magazine. Dani works. Congrats Saleisha! I hope this is the final ANTM cycle. stick a fork in it, please! Tyra & the CW. Too many bi-polar chicks having premature breakdowns, way too young.

First of all, I lost a $20

First of all, I lost a $20 bet cause I swore Tyra was gonna let lil miss 'Mentally Challenged' win. Just for more media coverage, though. I REALLY wanted Bianca to win - she was beautiful even without hair...now her attitude was a bit stank but the rest was HIGH fashion. I did like Saleisha but I didn't think she'd win. But now that I see her, I can envision Saleisha on the runway or maybe Vicki's w/a long weave. Toodles.....

Oh. My. God. If I hear crabs in a barrel one more time in reference to black people I am gonna puke. I am definitely glad Saleisha won (she did kill that runway), but only because my favorites were already eliminated. Other girls were better, some black and some white. Why do we have to like everything just cuz a black person is doing it? If it's bullshit why can't I call bullshit on it without getting bombarded with reprimands? We don't all agree that the same things are great, and suddenly it's HATE. Some people do say things out of jealousy, but damn, we don't hear people shouting HATER if someone black says spiteful things about a white person. Forget that. If you are black and your shit is wack, I am going to say so. If you are white and your shit is wack, I will say so. Stop using HATE all the time. Why are YOU tearing ME down just because I don't like what you like? I am definitely glad we are making strides, but all steps forward are not steps in the right direction. If a black person does something positive, great! But if they do that positive thing poorly am I supposed to sit back and say, "well at least he/she is black?" Hell no, cuz then we look like we will just accept any old bullshit and then that's exactly what we end up getting.
OK know-it-all. You are entitled to your opinion and I have some questions for you 1) How is ANTM wack 2) What would you do if you were the producer to change the show's wackness into fabulousness 3) What about Saleisha win on this modeling competition was as you say "a positive thing done poorly" 4) Do you believe that if we as black folk don't believe in ourselves that no one else will either Answer those questions truthfully, and hopefully you will understand that your negative critism is not warranted. There are so many other instances that you can voice your negative opinions, but you choose to pick one where a black model wins a competition produced by a black women. Now that's wack.
Ok, first off, me having an opinion does not make me a know-it-all. Did I ever claim to know it all? No, I did not. Secondly, I did say that I was glad Saleisha won over the other two and gave her props on her walk. She seems like a nice girl. 1)I never said ANTM was wack, read the comment again, I made a general statement. 2)See answer #1, I like ANTM, I watch every season. 3)About "Saleisha win on this competition", as YOU said, she simply was not the best in my opinion, and the opinions of quite a few others. I saw Ambreal and Ebony as possibles to succeed if they had gone further in the competition. Saleisha was the best finalist, but not best overall TO ME. 4) Yes, I do believe that, but I also believe that we should still hold a high standard for ourselves. Take Soulja Boy for instance. Am I supposed to applaud someone who has a great opportunity for using his popularity to further us as a people but instead talks about "jockin on dem hatas mayne" and cannot enunciate, just because his skin is like mine? No, don't think so. That is not hate, just how I feel. I love my people and I think that we have to do better, that's all. This is nothing personal against Saleisha or ANTM or Tyra. I am not jealous of her, I hope that she surprises me and many of the doubters and does well. That wasn't the point I was making, so get your facts right. Someone started talking about crabs in a barrel and I hate that we perpetuate that. We are all just quick to jump on each other's backs for having an opinion. That is no different from hating really, trying to tell me I am negative. How is that unity that all the "non-haters" seem to be striving for? How is that "warranted"? We are all black, but we are individuals. We are a community, not a collective mind.

She looks beautiful, one of her photos she looks like Diana Ross in Mahogany. The photo with the tatoos all shoulders and sitting in a flower bed. She is stunting and doing her thang. Go girl. As for Tyra, I will support the sista in anyway I can do to the fact that she is a successful black woman setting the example for all women regardless of race, creed or color. If it a pattern of showing black, white, black, white or whatever, positive reaction is this, somebody need to break the barriers of discrimination. Go girl.....do your thang!!! I find myself checking out the reruns and current show because you can learn alot from the shows especially if you are an inspiring model or just someone who is willing to learn something to just improve ones self. LOVE IT!! So we have Oprah and Tyra doing their thing. An on another note, what are all the other successful black models doing with themselves, Niami is to busy beating up people with cell phones and disrespecting everyone in her path, not thinking or realizing how her actions affect other inspiring models or young ladies with low self-esteem. If she would only step out of her zone for a minute and WAKE UP...same message Mr. Fishburn was screaming in SCHOOL DAZE,,,that was one for the old heads. Iman, Beverly, and the beautiful dark skin model with the very short hair, I don't see or hear them. Let Tyra be Tyra and lets suppport her and if the others one step up and make a statement as loud as Tyra then do it. Tyra said OPRAH is her role model and what to one day be like her. She will give her time. What I really would like to see Tyra do a a movie about her life and play the role herself, she is a wonderful actress, best performance, higher learning. As far as the new model...follow Tyra's footsteps, leave the alcohol and drugs alone and you will do fine. In my opinion didn't deserve

In my opinion didn't deserve to win.I'm both black and latina but I'm not about to show my support to anyone that doesn't deserve it.Her and Bianca did their immature, high school best to make Heather feel as uncomfortable as possible(jealous much?) and she is too grown to be acting like that.I thought the point of antm was to "discover" girls that didn't already have a lot of previous experience and certainly weren't the protege of Tyra.I think she had an unfair advantage, she was never humble and very much full of herself and it's unfortunate that no one can give their opinion here if it's any different than everyone elses.

Saliesha and Lisa were my favorites.... I actually met Lisa, Jaslene, and Nik in New York, they were all at a mutual friends house and I got a chance to kick it with the three of them. Jaslene was the coolest ever, very down to earth even a lil ghetto, Nik was a lil stuck up and quiet, and Lisa well she might be a step behind the rest of us if you know what I'm getting at. Lisa did however spill to us the Tyra and Saliesha were already friends and that Saleisha would probably win hence lettig us know that she didn't. Oh and all three girls agreed that Tyra is fake ass hell...this came out of there own mouths....

Dear Anon, Thank you and God bless you. We should all be so happy for Tyra and so supportive of her. She is trying so hard to uplift us and she continues to pave the way. I just do not understand my black sisters. They complain about Tyra, and just can not understand why we as women of color can not stand together and support one another. I just feel so sorry for us as a race when i read all of this negativity. Thank you for your words of support.

Congrats to Sal! A lot of these girls get exposure after ANTM; they work in America and overseas. Americans - why do some of ya'll think the world surrounds ya'll; but for those who claim to know fashion you see that some of them work all over. I love watching Top Model to get informed of the latest. Tyra keep up the good work; but I agree why is it questioned whether or not a black model can do "high fashion". Colour does not determine if you are beautiful and have the skill to model.

I am happy for Saleisha! She

I am happy for Saleisha! She went on the show to win and win she did. She always had a positive attitude and took the critiques and used them to better herself. Bianca could have been in the top running but karma came back to bite her. She always had something negative to say about anyone whom she thought was a threat to her. She constantly bothered Heather. She was mean spirited at times. So as the saying goes "What goes around comes around". I did like how she looked once they took off that two toned mess of a weave that damaged her hair to the point where she had no choice but to cut it all off. I did feel bad for her when she got voted off. I have no doubts that she will too The show gives all the contestants an opportunity for exposure as well as professional photos to use in their portfolios. Anyone of them who is serious about persuing their dreams all have a chance as long as they believe in themselves. Congratulations and Best of Luck to Saleisha! Keep doing what your doing. I am sure someone will like her look and use her to model for them.

Agree with Soul Cry about we

Agree with Soul Cry about we should be the first to SUPPORT a model who isn’t a video chick/hoe claiming to be a model. That’s a damn shame…we black people are so flipping negative towards others…WHY? Saleisha was bubbly, she really wanted it, and she really deserved it…even if she did go to Tyra’s T-Zone camp. It wasn’t rigged for her. She was the best one…regardless. All those girls have a chance to get modeling experience and some do come to the show with a little experience. If modeling is your DREAM, then you would come to the show with experience because you would have been working towards your dream before you came to the show. Lets just support her…damn. At least another black girl won and will get an opportunity to better her life and her kids’ lives when she has them. Be supportive!!!

Ease up on my girl Tyra.

Ease up on my girl Tyra. Rigged? Lisa, Heather and Bianca also went home for GOOD reason. If Saleisha DIDN'T win, then there would be something else NEGATIVE to be said. I am convinced, some folk just have to find something to be NEGATIVE about, no matter what. *smh*

I'm glad to see that there

I'm glad to see that there are some people on here who actually know what they are talking about. Thank you, LexyB. I completely disagree with Saleisha winning because it was clearly favortism. Because Tyra already knew her, it was clear that she was going to LET Saleshia win...and that was not fair to the other contestants. Saleisha was good, but so was Lisa, Heather and Bianca. Tyra is as phony and fake as they come!!!!!!!!!

The truth is, these chics

The truth is, these chics actually benefit from this exposure. Although we may not see them all the time. Believe you me, they ARE working. In Paris, Milan, Italy and beyond. The market for fashion is just "uber" crazy in other countries, and that is where they are making their $$$. TRUST!!!! Go Saleisha! I actually thought they were going to give it to Chantal, because, I too, still half believe they have a "formula" (as YUDS so eloquently put it) for picking different ethnicities each time. BUT, they surprised me & gave it the girl who DESERVED it.

Congrats girl! I enjoyed her, she was a breathe of fresh air, positive, and well-spoken. She deserves it. Although, I was also a fan of Heather.

you know whay i think, alot

you know whay i think, alot of these girls on ANTM dont really have what it takes to be a SUPERmodel.like can anyone imagine most of these girls in high fashion? no... the first three cycles were the best because the girls every last one of them had what it took. and the black girls on season three are doing their thing! EVA YAYA and TOCCARA! they actually doing stuff. and out of the winners the only one's to do something with covergirl besides the final shot to determine the winner was eva and danielle. so tyra i dunno. maybe she doesnt want someone who wins to outshine her!!!!

Boo.....booooooooooooooo. I

Boo.....booooooooooooooo. I only say that because there is a big possiblity that this season was rigged for Saleisha to win. She attended Tyra's T-Zone camp and has had major interaction with Tyra in the past by modeling on a previous episode of Top Model and her talk show. Thats not fair, thats having an alli as soon as you walk in the room. Ms Jay didn't agree with Tyra about her last night.
