Now that Jennifer Lopez has announced her exit from "American Idol," tongues are wagging that Mariah Carey may be the next diva to sit at the judges' table. Deets inside.....

Jennifer Lopez OUT...and another diva IN? Since J.Lo announced her official departure earlier today pn Ryan Seacrest's radio show and Steven Tyler bowed out yesterday, "American Idol" has some big shoes to fill. Now folks are buzzing that Mariah Carey is in talks to join the show.

That would make perfect sense because Mimi is close friends with Randy Jackson, so the chemistry would already be there. A source told PEOPLE, "She's in play. They are in serious talks."

That grand entrance...for judge MiMi of course...is going to be butterflies, extravangance and fabulousness honey. Yassss.....

American Idol needs to go off

American Idol needs to go off the air. Adding that space cadet, Mariah Carey to the roster is a horrible idea. She has an annoying, unreal personality. And I couldn't take looking at her that many times on TV. While I agree that she can sing, she is one of those people that should just sing. Leave acting, correspondence and all other aspects of entertainment to the people with a personality. I would like Mariah's music more if I never had to see her perform -- making the ugliest faces and constantly moving her hands in the air.

MiMi would be a very good

MiMi would be a very good look for the show. SHE CAN ACTUALLY SING, which means that she can really judge the hopefuls. I really don't know AI was thinking hiring washed up dancers/wanna be singers (Paula & JHoe) anyway. I swear I'll tune back in if Mariah takes a judge seat.

This has to be a joke! Mariah has no rivals except the great late Whitney JLo is not a singer anyway she was always a dancer so a replacement? Chile please! Say NO NO NO Mariah you don't need any parts of this dying dinosaur of a show that should have been taken off the air years ago. American Idol is done.
