BET: Pooch Hall Is Leaving "The Game" For Showtime Network Role, Hopes He & Tia Will Return For Guest Appearances

With Tia Mowry announcing this week she will not be returning for season 6 of "The Game," and reports saying Pooch Hall will not either, BET networks has issued a statement explaining the situation. Deets inside..

BET, the home network of "The Game," said in a statement today that Pooch isn’t returning because of his “involvement on a new project.” That new project is the Showtime pilot “Ray Donovan.”

The network went on to say it “is in the process of reworking the casting and storyline” and hopes Hall and Mowry “will make several guest appearances.”

Still calling B.S. on this ish. Why? Because Coby Bell--who plays the major role of Jason Pitts--has also played a mid-level role on USA network's "Burn Notice" for the past few years now. All while still working on "The Game." So it is possible. Not to mention many of the non-lead actors like Meagan Good, Brandy and others have several different projects outside of the show.

Everybody just needs to keep it 100 about what really went down. And as for the show continuing without the main two characters--just not seeing it.

Oh wells. It was fun while it lasted.

The Game will not be the same without Pooch and Tia. According to Tia she hated to leave the show but wanted to go out on top and not just make cameo appearances. Can't blame her for that. BET should have done whatever means necessary to have kept them on the show. The Game was the hottest thing on BET. Y'all messed up!

Thne we have malk who went from slefish to jackass since bet. Mabey its time to get a fresh start, A new show with some of the younger genreations Such as keke palmer, Tyler james williams , Leon Thomas, percy milller and taylor park. You cant start a show with no name star like on lets stay together, cuz it dont work

I'm glade shes leaving....she has no shape & don't fit the show. I hate to see sweet Pooche go he really played his part well and was a perfect fit for The Game. I hope they don't bring Jason boring ex-wife back. I like Brandy hopefully she stays. Tasha Mack is Great! and Melik did his thang he's also a keeper.

i love the game , but as fans

i love the game , but as fans dont you think were being a little selfish , maybe they jst dont want to do it anymore , or they are working on other things , it was good while it lasted , we should be happy , they put 5 years of their lives into this series so we can at least be thankful . love you tia and pooch

It's just like Girlfriends

It's just like Girlfriends when Jill Marie Jones left the show. They tried hard to sustain the show and expand the lesser characters' roles. But at the end of the day it just wasn't the same and didn't work. I think that's exactly what's going to happen to The Game. And I'm so upset because I've been a fan since it was on CW and I love the "Merwin" relationship. I stopped watching because the show was taking a turn for the worst but after hearing this, I definitely will not be watching anymore. And BET know they messed up because The Game is the only reason they're getting ratings now.

I am also sad to see Pooch and Tia leave the show. I am a big fan of the show but this season it has lost some of its appeal. Tasha was a hard worker trying to make a name for herself in a male dominated business. Melanie was attending medical school, it just showed us in a positive light instead of showing us as thieves, hookers, etc. Then the show took a turn and started showing us in a different light. Go back to the way the show use to be.

TWO THINGS ON ARE A NON-MOUTHAF**** FACTOR BUT I LOVE: (1) HAIR (2) MY TV SHOWS.... in the case anyone from THE GAME should ever read any of this and if any faithful fans may agree with me.... i am absolutely shocked to hear about Tia and Pooch's decision. i am one of the fans that was clinched to my tv every weekly 30 minute slot to watch this show. then it moved to BET and i was CLINCHED to episode one...sadly not impressed. the show has changed alot. idk if we should blame BET or the WRITERS...or BOTH! either way, the show has two options (1) revamp (2) be doomed. hearing this news, i initially think that the show is doomed but seeing what has happened with girl mel & derwin....i dont like either of them so if they both disappear...it wont be a total loss...BRING IN NEW FACES and allow some authenticity that viewers can appreciate like we had on the CW! im terribly sorry to see tia & pooch go but this show is nothing different an a SOAP OPERA that changes often and survives....after EVERYTHING the fans did to bring this show back....they should try their best to make it great. & thats my two cents.

BET has really made me mad, What is this new CEO DOING putting all the good episodes that really meant something to put on some bs that I dont even care about. I like them both but their storyline went south with Mel's uterus, but so did Tasha and Malik. If BET is smart they will expand Brandy and Jason's relationship along with his kid brit pit.
