Rohan Marley Is ENGAGED...To His Model Boo Isabeli Fontana

Artist Rohan Marley--Lauryn Hill's ex and father to 5 of her kids--just got engaged to his girlfriend of about a year, model Isabeli Fontana. The latest development in this alleged love triangle inside...

39-year-old Rohan Marley has made his reggae love official for his 28-year-old Brazilian model girlfriend Isabeli. The twosome, who hit up the 2012 Met Gala last week (above pic), has confirmed their engagement to the Brazilian newspaper, Terra.

Last year, Rohan denied being the father of Lauryn's 6th child--even though many believed they were still very much together in private--and started dating Isabeli while Lauryn was pregnant.

Now, Isabeli has confirmed the two are headed to the alter...in Ethiopia--the birthplace of Rastafarian culture...at some point in the near future. Isabeli told the newspaper:

"Rohan told me that we must return to their origins so that the marriage will last forever."

Oh....ok. This will be Rohan's second marriage (his first was to his college girlfriend) and Isabeli's third marriage. Yes, third. She has two sons--1 from each previous marriage.

According to Huff Post:

Marley, a former college football player, now runs a coffee company and has a line of headphones. Fontana has modeled for Victoria's Secret, Escada, Dolce & Gabbana, Revlon, Ralph Lauren and others, as well as serving as the face of Viktor & Rolf's Flowerbomb fragrance. She also appeared in the 2011 Pirelli calendar, and she recently received waaaay too much self-tanner in that now-infamous H&M bikini ad. The couple recently attended the 2012 Met Gala together.

I respect Lauryn. I don't

I respect Lauryn. I don't think she feels like a fool. She is a mother and they lived as a married couple for so many years. And it obviously did not work out. As much as I respect Marriage I can say that Marriage is not for everyone. The issue here was one of commitment. Rohan Marley and Lauryn Hill were very much a committed couple they she were never married. They are still committed parents. I don't think it's fair to call Lauryn a fool. Rohan was very supportive of Lauryn for many years. But this relationship did not work out. People need to be careful then they attack others not knowing all the details. Too many women have children with men who are not committed to them OR the children they have. That is sure not the case here. I don't see Lauryn in the same boat as say a Nia Long or the myriad of women who have multiple children by different men and NO commitment. Or say a Kim Porter. Diddy was NEVER committed to her. Lauryn and Rohan at least were together. I still hope Lauryn write a new Album. I still see her as I always saw her a STONG and creative woman. Lauryn is many things...A FOOL....NEVER!

The ultimate sign of commitment and respect is marriage. Its not as though he doesn’t believe in marriage its that he did not want to marry her. She obviously was fine with it because she didn’t press the issue. If someone is really ready to be committed to you they will marry you. In my old line of work I told many a person that they could not find additional information on their loved one because they were not the wife, I don’t care how many babies you have together in the eyes of the law I cant tell you anything.

You're either a married couple or you are not. You're living as a shacked up couple otherwise. Let's call a spade a spade here. I would surmise that the reason they never married is because HE didn't want to. How many women do you know who are involved in a long-term relationship with a man and who continues to pop out children, doesn't want to be that man's wife? Yet, he meets someone else and in a short amount of time decides to make the ultimate commitment to this women and asks her to be his wife. I m not calling her a fool but she has to be some kind of way about this. It has to be disheartening to say the least. As women, we often accept less than what our heart desires because we don't want to rock the boat and cause some man to leave us when the reality is that he was never there to begin with. We teach people how to treat us.

This is why I have handed over the reigns of my love life to GOD. I have brains, beauty, talent, and I REFUSE to settle in the area of love. He knows who I am and who would best complement my life. No longer interested in trying to choose for myself--I haven't always been the best judge of character. I would never have 6 kids by someone who does not want to make me their wife. Now Lauren has all there damn kids by someone who just wants to up and leave and marry someone else.
