Brian McKnight RESPONDS To The Critics Of His X-Rated "If You're Ready To Learn" Song

42-year-old singer Brian McKnight is trying some new ish these days. And by new ish, we mean doing an X-rated mixtape where he's writing and singing about "showing you how your pu**y works" and "showing you how it can squirt." After he dropped a preview yesterday of his "If You're ready To Learn" track, folks popped off about his new X-Rated direction. Check his response inside...

Yesterday, this video popped up on Youtube of "Back At One" singer Brian McKnight going a totally different direction with his music. The usually sweet and romantic soul singer said he wanted to try something new and give ladies more explicit words for their vajayjays. But in the preview of the new track, he still kept his usual melody.

Folks around the net sounded off about it--and they weren't pleased. Brian responded today tweeting:

I was just having some fun and look what happened...it's for all those women who keep getting disappointed by their partners period it was a parody about that

It's funny how we listen and let our kids listen to songs about killing people and selling drugs and calling women bitches...I wrote this song crude as it may be about satisfying all women and look what happened...I'm not being defensive it's just sad to think that one parody could wipe out 25 years of work

Well he does have a point, as this man's talent is not at all in question. But hearing these lyrics coming from the man who we're accustomed to hearing sweet romantic lullabys from....it was a bit jarring. That's all. But it's not anything we haven't heard before--said in a worse way--in any given rap song that sounds like a dude is trying to literally attack our girlie bits with an AK47.

Brian does maintain he's not switching his whole style to music like the X-rated song that's featured, just maybe one song or mixtape. Meanwhile, R. Kelly is somewhere plotting his response as the king of X-rated sex crooning. Thoughts?

I absolutely love Brian McKnight and have been a fan since his first CD dropped. He is too classy of an entertainer to go there. His ballads cant be duplicated by anyone out there, but in my opinion, this just does not fit him.....I love the melody, but the lyrics are way out there. Brian gives one of the best shows I've ever seen. Please, don't stoop to this level dude.......luv u, B!!!

Brain McKnight can sing whatever he wants, it doesn't matter who doesn't like it. You're either going to buy it or you're not. He sound just as melodious as any of his other songs the difference it he has nasty lyrics. I rather hear him sing it than 50 cent or Jeezy and these other rappers that sing about women in such a disrespectful way and tone. He did a wonderful job.

I don't see what the problem is. We have rappers like lil Wayne on the radio all the time telling us what they do in the bedroom.
