ON THE SET: Ginuwine's Wife Solé Attempts A Comeback With "A New Look"

So....38-year-old rapper Solé, who left the scene several years ago to start & cater to her family with singer hubby of almost 10 years Ginuwine, is attempting a comeback.

Pics of the new video for "A New Look" she just shot with a rapper named Focus inside...

If you were expecting a new look to go along with the song....there isn't one. Solé hasn't changed a bit since she hit the scene 13 years ago on JT Money's "Who Dat" song and her own "4,5,6" track ft. Kandi Burruss.

Now, 4 kids and a blended family later, Solé is coming out of hiding (she's based in Maryland with Mr. Elgin and fam) with this look:

She still looks good for this to be 13 years and umpteen kids later. But she may want to think about coming back via a different route. Just a suggestion.

Sole looks GREAT!!!! But I'm not feeling the whole "come back" thing. Maybe she should try being in movies, a talk show. . . . anything else, other than as a rap artist. I just find it hard to take her serious. Maybe its because of her age, which I think she is still young, just too old to come back out as a rap artist. Ppl on here so judgmental about age, its pathetic. Your never too old to try to live out your dreams. I hate when haters try to put you in a category or box. Just because someone has kids and/or is over the age of 30, doesnt mean their life should be over or spent rocking back and forth in a rocking chair SMDFH! We all have one life to live and should make it our happiest and best life. Besides, the younger ones in the industry today ain't doing much of anything that screams creativity, individuality, or talent. Its all recycled garbage and gimmicks. I say kudos to Sole for doing what makes her happy. All y'all fat, broke, ugly asses keep hatin. From what I see, alot of the older women are putting the young ones to shame in the looks dept. First off, Focus is a very well known music producer who made a name for himself at Aftermath. Second, to the people questioning Sole's ability to record again at 38, how old are you? While I'm not 38, I'm in my 30s. I'm lucky to meet a man over 24 because they think I'm 22. My body is on point and I don't exercise. My face, hair, skin and nails run circles around most teenagers. If I was an actress, I'd be cast on shows like Glee, not as someone's mother (though I'd prefer mature roles). Sole looks fantastic. She was selling gold records when many of you were stumbling around learning how to walk and use a toilet. If she wants to make a comeback at 48, good for her. Jay-Z, Puffy, Rick Ross and Kanye West are all in their late 30s and 40s, rapping about bullsh*t and wearing sneakers and jeans hanging off of their asses. All but Kanye have kids and no one says boo about their appearance or the subject matter in their songs. Stop with the sexism, misogyny, and in the case of a lot of you younger women, JEALOUSY.

Jay-Z, Puffy, Rick Ross and Kanye have been putting out music consistently for a number of years. They have remained relevant by adjusting to the times and trends with their music. I couldn't name a Sole song if somebody offered me $1 million. I'm not saying she's old, because 38 is young. I'm saying she is too old to be re-starting a career, in this youth-driven industry without a large, established fan base which she doesn't have. Sade, Madonna and Prince are in their 50s, and they both continue to make money off their music and tours--because they have a following. Sole can certainly record again, and maybe even sell 1000 records to a people who loved her back in the day; but like LL said "don't call it a comeback."

It's much easier for men to record and work consistently over the years because they aren't birthing and raising children. Women are incredibly judgmental when it comes to other women. 13 years is a long time to exit any industry, but she made a name for herself. She may struggle. She may never get back on again. At least she is pursuing the desires of her heart to resume her passion, which is her music. She made a tremendous sacrifice in playing the background to her husband's foreground for all these years. I give her props for wanting to make a triumphant return to music. While I think her wardrobe could be updated, the content and quality of her music will be what matters most. Nicki Minaj is 30 or in her 30s, running around wearing rainbow outfits, stuffed animal fur jackets and dresses that pop popcorn but that's acceptable. You can't win for losing with most people.

No, Sole, this isn't working. I like you and Ginuwine, but you may need to do it differently. Maybe a more mature laid back conscious kind of rap...maybe...i'm just trying to figure it out for you because this "ain't" it. You have skills, looks and all that, but that same old kind of rap at this age may not work for you.

There comes a time in everyone's life when you need to accept that your time has passed. You must now deal with a new realty. You can never make up for lost time - just like you can never make up for lost sleep. I'm not saying you have to give up but you need to adjust and make whatever it is fit into the limitations you are now facing. Accept that it's a new time right now, and you have to either change & adjust with it, or sit down & leave it alone. If memory serves me correctly, Jessica Simpson performed at the Orange County Fair in So Cal a year or 2 ago. She is a successful entrepreneur. It isn't always about "checks rolling in," it's about artists connecting with their fans in different ways since the industry has changed so much since the CD became phased out and the mp3 was able to be leaked in advance of album release dates.
