Cissy Houston Says Whitney Didn't Die BROKE + Bobbi Kris' Rep CONFIRMS She's Set For Tyler Perry Role

Cissy Houston, the mother of the late Whitney Houston, has broken her silence about her daughter's passing. Watch her first interview inside and find out what she had to say about people throwing dirt on her daughter's legacy. Also, get the deets on Bobbi Kris' new acting gig which has now been confirmed.

"I know I did the best I could … I don't blame myself. I know I did the best I could for everything. My children are my whole life. She was very special to me, very special. She was my only daughter, and a good one."

That's what Cissy Houston told WWOR's Brenda Blackmon as she broke her silence about the death of daughter Whitney Houston two months ago.

Cissy used her first video interview to express her outrage over the media's handling of the death.

"The media are awful. People have come from here and there, [and they] don't know what they're talking about. People I haven't seen in 20 years. ... Here they come, [they] think they know everything, but that's not true. But God has his way of taking care of all of it, and I'm glad I know that. They really chopped on her, chopped on her … kept, kept, kept."

Cissy also got tense about folks lying about Whitney's money. "She's not broke. She's not anything, none of that crap," she said.

Whitney's only daughter Bobbi Kristina has landed a role on Tyler Perry's TBS sitcom "For Better or Worse." Rumors have been floating for about a week now, but Tyler's rep just confirmed. Though no deets have been released about the role, it's clear that Bobbi Kris plans to follow the footsteps of her parents into the entertainment world. Not sure if this is for the best at this moment (too soon?), but time will tell...

Come on Cissy. Stop blaming Bobby Brown for Whitney's drug problems. RayJ was probably more of a bad influence than Bobby Brown. Who do you think was suppl;ing Whitney with drugs? The whole Houston family have had problems with drugs. Her Aunt Dionne Warrick was caught with weed, her brother had a drug problem, and so did Cissy back in the day. Whitney loved and married Bobby Brown, because he was wild and krazy just like her, and that's what she wanted. Stop blaming Bobby Brown.

why do people always say "too soon"? first staying busy is ALWAYS good for the greaving process. 2) I'm soooooo tire of black people using "my momma died" as an excuse to be triffle. The house is dirty "you know my momma died", not going to school this year "you know my momma died" Being rude to everyone "you know my momma died" . . . and in most cases that was 5-10 years ago. MY MOTHER DIED LAST YEAR and didn't tell a soul (she lived in another state) I knew then the world keep turning. My rent was still do, and i didn't won't anybody's FAKE sympathy (all they really won't is the story) my main point is this you only get ONE good year of the "you know my momma died" after that you need to grow up.

I have never understood how people who considered themselves ADULTS with real life experience could draw conclusions about another persons life... never mind a complete stranger. If Bobby Kris were to let people decide for her when it would be ok for her to move on with her life we wouldnt be seeing her for a couple of years. If she is ready to go to work, MORE POWER TO HER. She can make her own decisions and if she falls she will get back up like the rest of us and keep it moving. More power and love to her. Ill be checking for the show.

The fact that her mother is gone only makes people become more empathetic. She needs people to be concerned and care about her. I think it's genuine and I don't see anythingwrong with it...

But addiction was a personal choice that Whitney and Michael Jackson made to cope with the fame they had. Whitney had a gift and that gift came with a burden she felt deep inside but the media did not kill her. Whitney killed herself because she was addicted to deadly drugs and she surrounded herself with all the wrong people. Bobbi Kris is now making the same EXACT mistakes. I will say that Beyonce is smarter than all of them. Beyonce does not do drugs and she has a great relationships with her family and she has a supportive husband. That is the end is a gift and she values her gifts. When you get famous...personal attack will come that is part of the package but how you deal with that fame will decide what your true legacy will ultimately become.

"But addiction was a personal choice that Whitney and Michael Jackson..." I applaud you for your insightful posts, however, this is where you are incorrect. I take it you are very young and perhaps lead a sheltered life of sorts. I say this because as an addiction researcher, addiction is NOT a choice. My guess is that WH was beyond addiction and became chemically dependent on drugs, which again, i s neurophysiological and not a choice. The choice to use drugs in the first place, is one thing, but something that many fall prey to, but never develop full blown addictions/dependence. If you don't detox properly you will die from the withdrawals alone. That's all. Good post :-)

I agree, there is a reason why Cissy didn't allow Oprah to interview her...She probably felt that Oprah would use her for ratings. Also, as shown in the Ophrah interview, Bobbi Krisitna was not imterviewed. She merely walked into the kitchen to speak and proceeded to be grilled by Oprah. Bobbi Kris was not supposed to be interviewed, but Oprah used that 5 minutes to her advantage by advertising it as an interview...Sad and Disgusting!!!!
