Lamar Odom Dropped From The Mavs (Temporarily), Sent To The D-League!

Some call it the Kardashian curse...some call it just a downward spiral of luck. Either way, Lamar Odom was just demoted to the D-League from his new Dallas Mavericks home.

Deets inside...

After missing some games for "personal family reasons," and admittingly not feeling like himself after getting suddenly traded from his Laker home to the Mavs 3 months ago, Lamar Odom has been sent to play for the Texas Legends.

What's that you ask? It's the NBA Developmental League team based near Dallas. ESPN reports he was removed from the Mavs' roster and sent to the D-league to "get his legs back under him."

ESPN reports Lamar will practice with the new team tomorrow (Saturday) and will play in his first game tomorrow night. He'll also have two private workouts today with Mavs consultant Tim Grgurich.

Lamar has proven to be a great player his 13 years in the game. So this move comes as a shock to sports fans.

Some reports state that it was Lamar's idea to go play in the D-League for a few games in order to prep himself for a better return to the Mavs.

Either way...his consolation prize? He gets to keep his $8.9 mill annual salary. And may just get another season of his reality show with Mrs. Khloe Kardashian Odom called "Khloe & Lamar Take The D-League."

Alot of ball players like a lot of employees in regular jobs forget rule number 1, "BE PRODUCTIVE"! Your boss may act like he loves everything about you, but the minute you are not productive your azz will be out of there quicker than you can spell replaced. Wake up Lamar, just because you have a contract doesn't mean they can't get rid of you. This is not the Mavs fault this is your fault, but it is not too late to prove what kind of player you are. Keep your mouth shut, don't pout, don't whine, and work your azz off to get back with the Mavs!

I read an article that said Lamar has been out of shape and uninterested in the game. If that's the case, I can think of 8.9 M reasons why that shouldn't be the case. While the players were locked out, he should have kept in shape. Why go from 6th Man of the Year to nothing?! No matter where you're playing, take pride in your own game and health. AND Dallas is the championship team! Family sadness aside, his career is nothing to be depressed about.

This has nothing to do with the Kardashians. Lamar has been playing like ass ever since he was traded. He still feels betrayed and out of his element in Dallas, which is normal for some players who get blind sided by a trade. It has nothing to do with Khloe.

From what I read at ESPN, Mark Cuban isn't cutting him number one, and two Lamar's dad is ill which is why he needed the time off , he's been with him. Mark said to espn that he's only playing with the D League to keep his body in shape for when he returns to NBA. All the media is making something out of nothing

I am shocked, I have never

I am shocked, I have never seen a player on his level get sent to the D-League, usually the team will just cut you, or trade you. Usually I wouldn't comment because I am not a fan of Lamar and Khloe, but this ish is crazy. I follow basketball and I can tell you that it is extremely rare for a player of his caliber to get sent to the D-League, this almost never happens.

Although he was doing the reality shows while in LA, he wasn't missing practices (probably respected Phil Jackson more than his new coach). Either way, he better watch his ass because this could go either way; he could return and live a happy life or he could STAY in the D-Leauge.

There is nothing terribly

There is nothing terribly shocking about this. After being away for over a week, Lamar wanted the chance to get a game under his belt before returning to the Mavericks. Folks saying "he isn't that good" or "this is so shocking" or "Kardashian Kurse" have NO clue how basketball works. This is something that can happen...and does happen. Lamar has been playing at an average level since his trade as he is emotional. He wants to return to the Mavericks in top shape and this was his idea to get that done.
