"Birthday Cake Remix" Producer The Dream DISHES On Rihanna & Chris Brown, Says Rihanna Has FORGIVEN Breezy

The Dream is speaking out about his friend Rihanna saying it was her idea to add Chris Brown to the "Birthday Cake (Remix)". He added that if she has forgiven him, so should everyone else. Get the deets inside....

The Dream has spoken out to Billboard about Rihanna's controversial "Birthday Cake Remix" saying,

"For me, it's just music -- two talented people doing a record together, doing two records together, and that's what it was. It wasn't about an incident that happened. The true thing really is to forgive, and… you want to believe in people."

He added,

"It was Rih's idea.  Not only do we work together, but [Rihanna] is a friend of mine. And it's like, 'You wanna do something? Then cool, let's do it.' I don't know how she got the logistics and how it happened -- maybe she'll talk about it one day. I showed up at the studio, and it was like, 'All right, cool, let's finish this record,' which we probably should have finished the first time we did it."

All in all, he ended by saying, "Because this is about her, if she can forgive, that's where she is mentally. As a friend, it's like, 'Okay, cool. Let's roll.'"

So it seems like many folks are moving on from the Chris Brown incident from a few years ago.  On forgiving Chris, he said,

"I think [the topic] that should be more on the tongues is: how do we proclaim to be a nation of forgiving, and we go by all of these rules and everything, but we can't actually do it? It actually makes you look weaker than your adversary -- if you don't have the power to forgive, but you lie and say that you did.

Interesting point.  Thoughts?

I'm not sure why so many

I'm not sure why so many people are so overly invested in the two of them on this personal level. Nobody has comfimed that he is no longer with his girlfriend and they are officially back together. They are two entertainers doing their jobs. If you like the remix version of the songs they did great, if you don't that's great too. They made the decision to put forth this song ( that's why they didn't do a poll or ask our opinions) just like they decided that they were going to publicly let us know that they interact with each other again. If they cared about what we really thought they would have asked. I like them both as artists and I have no say so on their personal and nor should I because their thoughts would have no merit on my personal life

I dont see what the problem

I dont see what the problem of him being on his record. They are entertainers and they are providing entertainment. Chris Brown plead gulity, did his time, and is trying to move on and have a life. Yes his mistakes/downfalls are and will always be made public, that does not give anyone the right to judge him. No of us know him and probably never will. If you dont like him or his music, dont buy it. But I can promise you half of the ppl on here bashing him and saying he does not deserve forgiveness were bumping to "Look at me now" or "She aint you". Ppl crack me up always trying to judge ppl when in reality that is not our job, its God's job! So pls let God do his job!!!

In no way am I justifying CB actions, but he has taken responsibility for his actions, did his time and is trying to live his life and have a career. Clearly Rihanna has moved on a forgave his action. Him beating her ass has not stopped her from shaking it, having a career, or make money. Can anyone name the famous

Can anyone name the famous artist who did this to a woman? "He 'picked her up' and 'began slamming her face and the right side of her body repeatedly against a wall near the stairway' as his bodyguard held off the crowd. After he tried and failed to throw her down the stairs, he began kicking her in the ribs before chasing her into the women's bathroom, and donkey punching her a few times for good measure." What'd she do to deserve this? She interviewed someone who used to be in his group. We forgive and forget who we want, especially when the woman involved isn't as famous as Rihanna. Who spoke up for this victim? It did happen many years ago but if Chris Brown has to live with the stigma of one incident, why shouldn't this dude? I'm not saying anyone has to welcome Chris Brown with open arms but quit being so damn self-righteous. As another poster pointed out -- if you don't like him, don't do things to keep him relevant. Don't purchase his music, or anything he endorses/is sponsored by. Clue: I bet you like his expensive headphones.

Ok this is MY VIEW..... There

Ok this is MY VIEW..... There is not a single person on this BLOG who was MORE vocal AGAINST Chris Brown's violence than I. The thing that made me so upset was reading post after post that try to minimize what Chris Brown did to Rihanna. People were on here saying things like what Chris did was a "mistake". They said things like Chris Brown only attacked Rihanna because she hit him first. All of these PATHETIC excuses. Then I was angry about Chris Brown's actual behavior right after the incident. This man was on a jet ski pretending nothing was wrong after he nearly beat a woman senseless. Then there was that CNN interview where an inarticulate Chris Brown did not take ANY responsibility for HIS actions. I was angry at the fact that people in the African American community were so permissive of abusive behavior and they still are! Well...... It's been three years now and my view has changed. I think that Chris Brown is an immature idiot BUT he has not been violent to another woman since. I think some people are talking this too far. Why is it that Chris Brown at his age can't change????? Who says he can't be saved or change his behavior for the better. Why are we so willing to throw him away as some monster who's is beneath forgiveness. I hate that people like Miranda Lambert are just taking the view that Chris Brown is trash and will always be a woman beater. I think we should allow him a second change and Rihanna is also willing to give it another shot. Let them experience being together again. It's like saying a person can't go through the system and become a better person for it. Why do we have rehabilitation or corrections if they can't save people or change behavior? MY only issue is people like DREAM. I hate DREAM! This song is not romantic it's vile and GROSS (birthday cake). This song does not show that Chris or Rihanna learned anything. If they had a better song that played to the things they learned I don't think you would have this reaction by many. This song reflects a lack of understanding of domestic violence and you see that in many comments in this room. This SONG is vile and misogynistic. Chris saying he wants to "F" Rihanna is plain creepy given how he beat her. These two are just not being smart about it and they are opening themselves up for all this negativity and critical opinions. I just think they should have picked better songs and maybe people would feel better about them getting back together. But this is their life and they WILL pay the consequences because people take Violence against women very seriously even if Chris and Rihanna don't.

Regarless of who started it,

Regarless of who started it, who threw the first punch, noone should ever lay their hands on another unless its self defense. Dont get me wrong, I think any man that lay's their hands on a woman is a straight out pu$$y, but I do believe that eveyone makes mistakes and deserves a second chance. When I was dating my now husband, he layed his hands on me 1 time. I have 5 brothers. Yeah that was the end of that. However, I forgave him and we are still together 16 years later. He has never touched me again. My poing being, if Rihanna can forgive, Chris Brown, so shoule everyone else. He owned up to what he did, he never denied it and has paid his debt to society. He still has the same talent and a great performer, he has worked hard to get where he is at and that shouldnt be taken away from him for the mistakes that he has made. He is still young and still in a learning stage, and I believe that he has learned from this and hopefully the lesson learned had made him a better person.

Anonymous 12:32 pm - Beating

Anonymous 12:32 pm - Beating a woman like Chris Brown did was not a "MISTAKE" And like you said there is NO excuse for what CHRIS BROWN did. But Chris Brown has issues with violence and we are all aware of that. We have seen how Chris reacts when things don't go his way....with VIOLENCE. Chris' behavior on GMA is case in point. This boy has issues. But I do think we should allow him time to grow and mature. Chris did his court ordered probation well. And I don't have evidence he has been violent with other women outside of Rihanna since so I would like to think Chris "CAN" change. But this song "Birthday Cake" is a reflection that Chris and Rihanna lack good judgment. This song is so inappropriate I don't know where to start. DREAM is a PIG. To even claim credit for such a vile song GIVEN the violence that happened between Chris and Rihanna is the reason people are not feeling these two. I also question Rihanna's judgment in making this type of song. I'm all for love and being free but these two are BOTH public figures and they have to think about what they do and the messages it send. This song being their first together since the violence would be looked at with a microscope and this is what they select??...... Why not do a GREAT song that is more about love or forgiveness rather than just raw SEX? This song is so sexual it's not cool. Chris saying he wants to "F" Rihanna made me sick to my stomach given what he did to her. They have to be smarter. When you're in the public you can't then pretend like you're not. They can't have it both ways. Why not use Music to make a better statement than this? Comments like yours prove that Violence against women is very much trivialized. I'm not happy with this song at all and I'm sad that Rihanna nor Chris put any thought into what they were lending their voices 2.

But they did do a GREAT song

But they did do a GREAT song about love and forgiveness... If you listen to the lyrics of the OTHER remix they dropped, 'Turn Up The Music,' they state how badly they want to start over: I can see it in your eyes, baby, you want a piece of me, oh... So let's take this chance to do whatever it takes to make it right... Let's turn it up, I love you baby... But the media outlets have more so chosen to focus on 'Cake' because they can drown it in negativity... Never mind that it was an ecology song FROM JUMP. And what about all the songs they've done in the three years since 'The Incident' that reference consequences, love and forgiveness? Breezy even says straight up on the song 'Champion,' "I used to see my momma getting beat down, is that the real definition of me now?" Come on.... People hate him because they LIKE to and he's an easy target...

This is so dumb. We are being

This is so dumb. We are being told that it's okay to forgive a man that acts out and beats on women. We are showing children (especially little girls) that's it's okay to give up ur most sacred things for money or to have a feeling of being financially secure. We are raising our men to fuck dem hoes, but there are hoes out there with diseases. I'm happy that i have kids but sometimes I feel bad about bringing them into such an awful place, filled with awful people. Chris Brown will get his day just like we all have our day. just like any celeb he's riding high on the money, sex, fame train right now. One day he'll be made to answer for his wrong. I do not support any artist that I feel is doing things that i do not approve of. Those that i do approve of I either get the CD from my bootlegger ($3) or I purchase it directly from Target. But that is very rare, like someone stumbling across a fire breathing dog that flys. The last CD i purchased I mean I really paid the 12.99 for it was Adele's CD and I love it and I'd do it again. Cause she doesn't have to sell sex to sell music, she doesn't have to pick fights with folks to get attention, she doesn't have to much but just sing. The girl can sang and she's beautiful and I love her accent.

I wonder what is going on in homes where women think it's cool to get beat! Rihanna I don't care if you forgive him and f__k him. That's your business. But I think you are a crazy damn fool for doing business with him. You are a huge star you don't need the few pennies that come from this controversy. You are doing your career more harm than good. But maybe Chris' sex is more important to you than your career. Maybe you are burnt out. Good luck.

Let's be clear about this,

Let's be clear about this, the fact that Rihanna, the Dream and the purple people eater have all forgiven Chris Brown and are ready to move on does not mean that I or anyone else are required to embrace him -- especially in light if the fact that a good bit of this "forgiveness" is wrapped up in business dealings. Yes, he has done his time per the court's requirements and as far as I am concerned everyone has a right to make a living legally so I don't care that he's making music and performing at award shows. That does not mean that I or anyone else must forgive him, purchase his music or support his career in any way, especially when he has done nothing to deserve my (our) forgiveness. Since the incident, he hasn't been contrite or demonstrated that he has tried to get his issues under control. To the contrary, he has broken and shattered windows at a TV morning show because he did not like the questioning and his now infamous twitter rants are unbelievable. All he has shown me is that he has impulse control issues. So excuse me if I don't understand how nothing but the passage of time means that he should be rewarded with my attention and money. My concerns however, are greater than Chris Brown. It seems that as a group African Americans have a shifting sense of morality. Would we be talking about forgiveness if Chris Brown were a white guy? Has our sense of morality been so eroded that when faced with a picture of a battered woman, we start questioning who hit whom first? I always thought the rule was that a man doesn't put his hands on a woman except to show love, compassion or in self-defense and even then only enough to diffuse the situation. How is that we have gotten to a point that women would boldly proclaim on twitter that they would allow Chris Brown to beat them to get X,Y, and Z? I know of no other group that treats their women so poorly and many of us women seem to have adopted the same mindsets. We support men we all know our pedophiles (R. Kelly and Eddie Long) and men who batter our women. Why? If there is this much support for men who only need us for their bottom line, I can only imagine what we allow in our homes and communities.
