Chaka Khan TALKS Whitney's Death, Says Clive Davis Should Have CANCELLED His Party!

Music icon Chaka Khan stopped by Piers Morgan's CNN show last night where she disagreed with Clive Davis saying there's no way Whitney would have attended a party if one of her friends had just died. She would not have wanted the music to keep playing. Get the deets inside.....

Chaka chatted with Piers Morgan last night and opened up about the death of friend Whitney Houston.

She said that Clive Davis' pre-Grammy party was "insanity" with one half of the room partying and the other half in tears. She added that she can't imagine Whitney would have said that "the show must go on."

Chaka revealed Whitney was the kind of woman who who has said, "I won't be there," if one of her friends died. She interestingly added that she blames whomever flew Whitney out to LA for a full week before the Grammys for what happened.

Talking about her own addiction, Chaka said entertainers are vulnerable and there are too many temptations in LA for someone like Whitney to be there for a FULL week with pretty much nothing to do except party.

Meanwhile, Whitney's body has been flown to New Jersey, via Tyler Perry's private jet, where the funeral will be taking place at ~~the Prudential Center~~ her childhood church and will be invite only.

I understand how Chaka feels but Clive is not whitneys parent he is a business man ok! that man needs to make money….he feels bad everyone knew how much Whitney meant to him but People were coming in from out of town he could not cancel that party abruptly…. Chaka you are on this show interview, I am typing this comment, someone’s having a baby right now the world don’t stop because people pass away! And I am not being mean or careless but that’s how the world is…. Yes it feels like it stop for her family and friend close to her for a while but for the rest of us we continue to do what we do.... When i die which i hope isnt soon my boss will not close the whole company..... He may feel bad, but that is money..... And life still goes on..... to me Clive was an extraordinary manager…. He produced her career until she was 40…. How tmany celebrities can say I have the same manager since I was 20? He never used her, he never gave up on her, and eventhough she had a drug problem and didn’t make consistent music in her later years he made sure her name was still out there….. There are some celebs who had to screw the whole record company in order to be put on wax and their music never seen the light of day so cut Clive some slack.... We know that Whitney wasn't any saint or was perfect, but as a God fearing person, she and her family deserve some respect for their loss. They say she lost her voice so she was of no use to that them anymore. "Judge not or you will be judged by your own same works." Everyone needs to wake up, because these new celebrities are being controlled and manipulated like "puppets" and if you don't do what they say, your career is over or you'll end up dead like Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston. Whitney slipped a private note to Monica meant for Brandy, while they were both being interviewed with that Clive Davis "phony", then later on she's dead. Read the news, so many bizarre things happened to Ms. Houston leading up to her death, which I believe was murder. Ms. Chaka Khan knows what's really going on, but was frustrated with the treatment of her dear friend, which is truly understandable, as she so bravely spoke up.

I agree with you. Not sure why...but it doesn't feel like Whitney's death was accidental. The world is evil and the music industry is its pawn. Something very strange..it was grisly that all of Whitney's "so-called" friends didn't care enough about her not to attend the party. My god..they all sat there in a ballroom as Whitney's cold dead body lay upstairs. Incomprehensible!! That scene to me was demonic...no other word for it.

The person who pissed me off more than anyone was Jennifer Holliday who was in Dreamgirls on broadway. She used to be well over 350 pounds and finally lost the weight. She is now 48 herself and was on Piers Morgan after Chaka Kahn to talk about her own former addiction and how she was in the same circles as Whitney many years ago. Problem is he asked her if Bobby got her on drugs and she said NO, I hate to say it but Whitney was using way before she met Bobby. OK, I get that,but Chaka eluded to it but didn't come right out and say it. Even though I figured you can't really blame him since she was a grown woman and they've been divorced 5 years and he's clean, Jennifer Holliday is a fake azz something. Whitney wanted to record the Dreamgirls song for her own cd "And I Am Telling You" and Jennifer Holliday had the nerve to tell her that it was her song and that Whitney wasn't woman enough to sing it! She couldn't stand Whitney and even tried to get herself into the movie Dreamgirls but they told her she was too old and she criticized Jennifer Hudson who can sing just as well if not better than her. She took Whitney's death to get on tv and run her mouth about herself and her accomplishments on broadway and Piers had to cut her off. She was not Whitney's friend like Chaka Khan. I wanted to literally punch her in the mouth for being such a fake publicity seeking W----.

Jennifer is a dud but she told the truth every since bobby and Whitney became one people always blamed bobby for her drug use..... That's not right..... Bobby got clean and moved on, Whitney on the other hand did not make any changes and now look due to all the blame being on bobby all the time..... Yes Whitney was on drugs before bobby and she had a sense that bobby did drugs too at the time that's probably the main reason they got together..... Bobby is an alright dude..... Not really sure of Clive's motives behind having Jennifer sing "I will always love you" but whatever they were shouldn't take anything away for Jennifer's performance. Don't dump on her to uplift someone that YOU feel should have sang the song. That's one of the biggest problems now. Everyone that opens their mouth let's criticism FALL OUT. I'm sure their aother's who could have paid a heartfelt tribute to Whitney as well, but Jennifer was chosen. Give her her props or leave it alone. I disagree because (1) Whitney's body was still in the hotel and (2) Clive was supposed to be more than a mentor, he was a friend. I don't think a real close friend would be able to have a party. I agree with Chaka that maybe if it was put together as a place for those who loved her to come together to simply talk, cry, and remember her it would have been better. Chaka said half the room was crying and the other half partying. It's tacky and insulting to the deceased. No kind of party should have been held on the same day she died and while her body was still there.

If there is ever any question what kind of people were at that party so inhumane, cold and callous to smile and be seen: KIM K AND BRITNEY SPEARS were allll up in most of the photos- so does that help give any insight on the character and morals of the "type" of people to show up for the flashing lights? MORAL OF THE STORY HERE IS THIS: The next time you want to stan and idolize your favorite celebrity like they are god, think about this party incident. These celebs only care about money and attention. Just as they walked over and partied it up on Whitney's dead body (and she was their "friend"), they would do the same to you because they don't care about you other than how much money they can get out your pockets and how much praise you can give them. Whitney at this moment in time is the Greatest Singer. I tried to compare her to Celine, Christina and Mariah last night. And all though they most definitely could hang with her on the same playing field. Whitney won that battle ultimately if you really sit down and compare the strength of there lungs and the clarity of there tone. As for the rest, no one even comes close, her title will remain the same and they will be recycling the same songs for decades to come as they already do. Same for Mariiah and Celine, they have no competition, they might as well retire and let all there songs recycle like they already do. No need to keep putting out albums, they have no competition. Whitney has went from top to bottom and now passed on and they never have and still can't out do her. J-Hud singing that song was a joke, they should have let Christina or Celine do it.

Jennifer Hudson was scheduled to do a tribute for Whitney on that night while she was alive, so they turned it into a remembrance tribute instead. Yes, Jennifer can sing well but she's still not Whitney. When Whitney sang she gave me chills with the way she crafted her vocals and her stage presence. Also, it's evident it went on with Jennifer because of Clive Davis. It felt like NEXT, Jennifer is my new diva. She and Clive were on a show and he was asked if Jennifer was as good as Whitney (before she died) and Jennifer shook her head no in trying to be humble and Clive said she's almost there, she's working on certain things, but she definitely has the voice.

I am so Glad Sissy made that Funeral private. None of those people in that party deserve to say Bye to Whitney or sit among her true family and friends. That includes Clive, Brandy, Ray J, Alicia, Kelly, J-Hud, Diana, Glady's, Puffy, Britney, Monica and whomever else was there. Why, because they will only be there for publicity again, just to say they was there. As for those few unimportant celebrities that disrespected the family, there were many big celebs who showed much love and respect like the Osbourns, Myley, Chaka, Mariah and many others who stood there ground, stayed home and spoke out against the non sense. Thank You Chaka for speaking up. It's absolutely no words that can express that non sense, at all. How can you have a tribute when the family has not even had a chance to figure out what just happen. They still scrambling trying to figure out how did they life just go from A-Z in 30mintues. If this were not Whitney a Super Star and it was some regular star or person, the Police would have shut that party down just because it was two close in proximity to there investigation and the fact the victim was part of the party. But because it was Whitney they took every opportunity they had to capitalize of it whether it was publicity, money, partying or performing. This is a fact Because when the Rapper Dolla was shot at the Beverly Center in the Parking lot 3 Floors below the mall and transported to the hospital and they have the shooter in custody, they still shut down the whole mall from 12noon until closing. Same area same Beverly Hills Police and his body was taken to the hospital and not on the premises, so how you explain that one? They went out there way to disrespect her and the police let them do it for entertainment but in reality they would have shut that party down in normal investigations especially with the body still there. I grew up in LA trust me I know. Seen enough Crimes scenes

I lost my mother last year.

I lost my mother last year. While we believe she died on july 8- the fact is, we found her on july 9, my daughters bday. I told a couple of friends who would be in attendance at the celebration, but my daughter and most of the guest had no idea. Sometimes things do go on. Its not about wanting/meaning/trying to disrespect the person who died, but just that life really does go on- even while mourning. If the room at the party was divided with mourners and partiers, maybe the mourners shouldn't have come. Or maybe they needed to be with others that were mourning too. Lets not be too harsh. We cant judge what was in Clives heart. Im sure he loved her like few others. He mourned his own way.

If u think Hollywood CAPITALIZED off of TUPAC, BIGGIE and MJ's death, just wait until the upcoming movie Sparkle comes out. Hollywood is really going to make this a big deal. I bet they are already having their secret meetings. They are going to release all kinds of footage of WH b4 the movie comes out. Clive Davis will have all his next victims {Brandy, Monica, JHud etc} singing all kinds of tributes. I'm sure they will put JHud Grammy's tribute on video and sell it. Yes they are already plotting on how to maximize off of her death. I read an article earlier today describing how all of the big wigs are scrambling together to put out a big marketing campaign on all of her songs and other projects she was involved in. They have dollar signs all in their eyes right now. Hollywood is filled with sick-minded, money-grubbing, narcissistic people.
