First, Laura Bush and Michelle Obama are two different people with different personality, different background, and different experiences. Second, childhood obesity is one of the major problems facing America and Michelle Obama is doing an excellent job bringing it to more awareness. Third, Laura Bush was in office for 8yrs, Michelle is barely four years, give her some time. She might release a memoir post white house which is usually the best time. Fourth, the obamas are down to earth people who want regular people to relate to them. The obamas need all the fun they can have with all the big issues that was swept under the table, all the debts, economy problems that was at hand when Bush left office. Fifth, the obamas are doing the best they can do. He is not JESUS where he should automatically fix everyone's problems, or fix the problems in the black community when it's up to individual. Everybody is putting unrealistic expectation on them. This is what happens when a black person gets in a high position, he has to work ten times harder, go extra miles to prove to whites and blacks. I like the Bush, their memoirs gave a better understanding of who they are but don't compare them to the obamas because two different administration and different problems facing America at different times. The obamas might need to tone it down with the celebrity affiliation because they are political figure not celebrities. At the same time, celebrities have huge influence on the media and the media control people's mind. If michelle likes to dance, sing, let her go ahead, who said First lady have to be suited up, diplomatic all the time.
