Ludacris CLOSING "Straits" Restaurant, Shifts FOCUS To New "Chicken N Beer" Spot

Ludacris has announced that he's closing his Straits restaurant in Atlanta to focus on his new project, Chicken N Beer. Get the deets inside......

Ludacris is closing his 4-yr old Atlanta hotspot Straits to focus on a new venture, Chicken N Beer.

Chicken N Beer will be located at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Concourse D, and its name was inspired by Luda's 2003 album of the same name. He tweeted about his new chicken joint last week, but just recently revealed that he's closing his current restaurant.

Of the new project, Luda said,

"As I continue to learn and evolve as a businessman, I am extremely excited to put my restaurateur footprint into a new venture inside the busiest international airport in the United States, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Straits was a great segue into the industry and with Chicken N Beer I can create my own concept. I look forward to expanding my creativity and driving to a much higher plane."

Straits was really bad! But Mayor Kassem Reed don't care. He's the new "thug" mayor. I had hopes for dude. Mayor Campbell even though he got indicted in better than Kaseem. Kaseem can't talk, no vision, and just hang out at Reign, Velvet Room, wherever hoes and thugs are. Everyone in ATL know Luda did not deserve a restaurant. In particular in the airport Mayor Maynard Jackson built. Sad black leadership Kaseem part. Luda fell several health department inspections, Kaseem don't care. Thugs like thugs!

The best thing about Straits

The best thing about Straits was the cocktails, appetizers and the Art Tasting's they did on Wednesdays. Entree's and service was below average at best. With places like Serpas, Miller Union and Empire State South, you gotta bring your culinary A-game to Midtown...Straits just wasn't the ticket.

Gee.....from class to trash. Really??? Chicken and Beer? Why stop there? Why not serve the beer in 40's and have watermelon slices on the dessert list? Why not have a chicken and kool-aid special (of course the kool-aid flavor will be "red"). This is just ludicrous (pun inteneded)!!!! This reminds me of the movie Undercover Brother when Billy Dee Williams drops out of his presidential run to open a chicken restaurant called General's Fried chicken. -SMH

I'm going to miss Straits... I know he's saying he's focusing on his new biz venture but I don't see why he had to close Straits.. all they needed to do was get their issues squared away with their health inspections and they would have been STRAIGHT... dang.. That was some good food

Restaurant business is not an easy project and that's probably why he downsized to a smaller venue. The airport is definitely a good place but he should reconsider that name.

for one, we know ludacris is

for one, we know ludacris is from the ghetto. for two, he likely 99.8% grew up not having access the ingredients to cool. maybe he didnt even have access to a stove. does him closing his food business suprise the intellects, like myself? no. if youre not a chef or at least a good cook, which i highly like ludacris is, then your venture has a great probabilty of failure.

This does not mean STRAITS was in anyway a failure. The restaurant business is fickle and you MUST be on top of it. Of all the service industry options I shy away from food. You have to make it your passion. It it works and you have a product the COUNTRY (cause now people have to want to fly in to go there) loves you should fare wel.. But I understand... I consider it a step forward for him... Hey... He did it.
