Former Dirty Money chick Dawn dropped her hot promo pics for her new single just last week. Now check out "December Sky" off her upcoming solo album GoldenHeart in full below:

And her new pics above from EDGE magazine are looking good as well. She told the publication:

“I wanted people to literally fall into my heart. And if they could hear each beat of my heart those songs would be the sound. If you took a walk in my heart those songs would be the soundtrack”.

Meanwhile, "Hate On Me" singer Jill Scott, who copped a Soul Train Award for Best Female R&B and Soul Artist last month, has some ish to say about the 2011 Grammy nominations that were just revealed last night. Mainly about the fact that neither she nor her homie Miguel got one.

She tweeted just hours ago:

0 nominations. I'm speechless. Cover of Billboard, #1 cd in the country, tied/broke the record for Urban radio. Ok...so...ok. Wow.....

I don't need a Grammy. I deserve it & I'm clear on that. The Light of the Sun was/is magical . We were lifted & filled w/ truth. I ❤ it.

No Miguel?!?!? Huh!!!? Again appalled.

excuse me?!?!? No "Love on Top"? This can't be right...

After responding to uplifting messages from her fans, she said she's keeping it moving, and happy for her friends who did grab nods:

My head is up. My son is healthy, my family is loving & so are my fans. God is real. Disappointments too still I come thru like a Kung foo.

Are you people serious that

Are you people serious that Jill hasn't made a good album since her first? Have you listened to the album or just the singles...every CD has offered something unique, masterful and inspired. And her live show is ridiculous...I've been to see her 4 times and I'll go back time and time again. I do agree that maybe her Twitter wasn't the best place to "vent", but I understand that she's upset and rightfully so. And remember...this is her first album away from her old label, so she might be feeling a kind of way about validating. Either way...I'll keep buying and listenin' Jill. You are AWESOME!!

I agree to a certain extent

I agree to a certain extent with the person that brought up the fact that it's the NARAS (The National Association of Recording Arts and Sciences) organization that Ultimately determines who gets nominated for a grammy. Their peers are the ones that vote. Most would agree that even in a voting situation, which SHOULD BE free and impartial, many times they are not. It's about who you know and what you can give them for their vote. Let's not be naive. Palms still get "greased" in that industry. Do I believe Jill deserves a grammy?.......OF COURSE she does, but sometimes your talent and recognition among the fans alone is not enough to get the coveted award. I am by No Means saying that all artists who win grammies make back room deals, but I'd be willing to bet that some do. When that happens, unfortunately, some deserving artist misses out that year. It's just like when some actor who is 80 years old and been in countless critically acclaimed movies, but they never win an Oscar until they are damn near at death's door. Were they not deserving in the prime of their careers to win that award? I'm sure they were. There are just SO MANY mitigating factors that go into who wins these awards, much of which is no where Near the surface of what we, as spectators, see.

Whether or not Jill Scott's

Whether or not Jill Scott's music has the potency of what it once had is pointless. Ten years in the game, she is "up there" in terms of world wide recognition and is basically "the beyonce" of neosoul/soul/jazz/what people still refer to as "real" music. I do think (based on her worth ethic/genuise) that she is deserving of a grammy; my assumption is the reason why she was "ignored" could be that the light of the sun did not pack a cross over commercial skittle super positive song like "golden/long walk" etc (which is what we really expect to hear when the name/title Jill Scott is mentioned). TLOTS is indeed a magical album; but tracks off the vault like the remake of lovely day, im so much prettier (if pushed) really could have took it there and caused these people to pay attention to her now. As far as Miguel is concerned-I just discovered him this summer, saw him live a month ago and DO think he is by far one of the greatest younger acts out here right now. He truly is gifted; and if not with this debut-he'll def get it with his next one. Are the grammies hopeless for me? Hmmmmm...idk. Esparanza winning made me think otherwise. I will point out that the illuminati is running things hard; am I surprised M. Amb got one? Not really; esp after seeing her throwing up devil hornes in like every live performance. It is what it is; but I do have hope that the Grammys will one day return to its origin and acknowledge, honor and bestow awards upon those who truly to carry and can express the glory and gift of music.

It's has been blatantly obvious that the Grammys and those who nominate the winning artist do not care for real music. It has been real since India Arie was snubbed for the commercial queen Beyonce. Beyonce album was good but compared to India Arie, it played like a radio playlist. They only like commercial and radio artist. Jill works hard and should be mad, she has genuine talent.

I don't know how I am just realizing how much Dawn sounds like Brandy...she needs to switch it up...bc there is nothing about the Brandy sound that is popping right now... And sorry Jill needs to chill...I wasn't really feeling her album..though I did love the Block Party concert she put on in NYC...not every album is your best...

First of all it's about the fans, music and awards! Why shouldn't Jill be upset? If you work really hard towards something, you should be rewarded for it! It is no different from working a regular job and putting in the long hours and doing the extra work. Which anybody in their right mind would want recognition for, like a RAISE! We are all human and want & should be validated in one way or another! So this is no different as far as Jill Scott is feeling. We all want to have something to show for the hard work some of us are putting in! Now as far as Dawn she looks beautiful, congrats on her new single. Much luck to her!

I love ALL of these artists... but lets be real at the end of the day they are all full of shit. They get on stage and act like it's not about the award.. its about the fans and the music... so if you're fans love you and love your music... why fly off the handle about an award??? Grammy/spammy... the fact that people support you and your music and the fact that you are able to feed yourself and your family... very well I might add ... should be what's important at the end of the day. Not what a bunch of people sitting in a board room consider to be "great music" I mean come on people its going on 2012... get a grip.

Jill please dont care about this...when is the last time the Grammy's had good ratings/ Nobody even watches them anymore, they turn it off after the red carpet, that's why people started doing red carpet shows because the grammy folks KNEW people didnt watch beyond that. The folks at the Grammy's know that when Black artists are not nominated their ratings go waaay down, but they still try to lock most of us out so that their own can shine. Who decided that the grammy's was the top award you can get? Is it because you compete with other genre's of music not just your own? if that's the reason, in my opinion that's not good enough.

Voting has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with ratings and the National Association of Recording Arts and Sciences is a membership independent of the telecast you despise as the Grammys. Refrain from the race card cause its not valid here and usually not accepted in the arts. Jill should have been nominated, but if you know and love Jill then you would hope that she did not make this album for an award. She made it to feed her soul and to share with her fans, family and friends. On another note, did her team submit her album and songs in time for consideration? If by chance they did not, she should not be attacking the most important and highest regarded body of her industry peers and you my fellow lover of music shouldn't either. I am not a member of NARAS, nor am I defending NARAS...but I'm merely offering a rational point. Stop attacking the telecast. The Grammys is a telecast and the award is an actual gramophone. The governing body of voters is Chaired by a black man.

Not a fan of Jill. She's not as deep as she thinks she is. I haven't cared for anything she has done since her first cd. Love Dawn. She does similar to Brandy, but clearly different. I wish her the best. I'm shocked Miguel didnt get a grammy nod. He had some of the best singles this year.

Dawn does sound like Brandy. The track even sounds like Brandy's type of beat, lol. Dawn does have a great voice. Jill Scott is a talented artist. She had a unique CD. With all the accomplishments she listed I can understand why she is puzzled about being nominated. Everyone knows that all award shows usually have some type of rig. Movies, music, dance and acting....all have rigs when it comes to the proper people getting their just due.

What I don't understand is the fuss to be honored by an industry that cares nothing about the art or the process? If the music you create does not fit, nor is defined by "industry standards," shouldn't you actually be happy you're not a part of that whole mass mess? Jill could go straight indie (she damn near is) and outsell that average R&B/New Soul chick. If you make music because it's your passion, and it resonates with your fans, why care about a Grammy? I bought Light of the Sun b/c I'm a fan - she can't put out anything that I won't buy. But it's def not my favorite work from her. Could it be that the anticipation is what drove sales, and not the brilliance of it? To say she deserves it is very off-putting; man owes us nothing but to be themselves. It's up to US to make the adjustment. Jilly gets the side eye for that one.
