Occupy Wall Street Protestors EVICTED, Can Only Return WITHOUT Camping Out

The owners of Zuccotti Park (Brookfield Properties) and Mayor Bloomberg fully evicted the Occupy Wall Street protestors from the area just after midnight last night.  But despite the sh*tstorm it's causing right now, it's only temporary.  And the protestors can only return with tight restrictions. Will they return at all?

Details inside...

Over 1000 riot police officers from NYPD hit Zuccotti park around 1am, a time Bloomberg said was chosen to lessen chances of the possible injuries and rioting.  The Mayor of New York City says he made the final decision to evict in order to guarantee public health and safety after Brookfield Properties made it known they wanted the protestors to leave.

The Mayor's office said it became next to impossible for the rest of the public to navigate the park as the protestors were breaking the park rules of No Camping and No Sleeping.  And health concerns and fire hazards became extreme concerns.

"The first amendment gives the right to speak out," stated Bloomberg this morning at the press conference.  "But it does not give the right to take over.  The protestors have had 2 months to occupy with tents and sleeping bags.  Now, they will have to occupy the space with the power of their arguments."

Mayor Bloomberg said at his press conference just minutes ago that the intention was always to reopen the park at 8am today and allow people to express their First Amendment rights.  But occupyers will not be allowed to return with sleeping bags, tarps, and tents.

As of 8:45am EST, the park has not re-opened due to a restraining order issue the city is handling. Protestors have been trying to re-enter this morning but are being kicked out. Russell Simmons, Kanye West, and many high profile celebs have stopped by the movement to offer support.

As a die hard democrat, I

As a die hard democrat, I would love to throw my full support behind this movement, but at the moment I can't. This whole protest is so unorganized, and they haven't laid out any plans about how we should address income inequality in this country. To me it just looks like they're mad that there's rich people in this country, they're tight because they're not. Keep in mind these are the same people that wait in line for iPhones and iPads, shop at American Apparel, and sip on their Starbucks, so they just look like a bunch of hypocrites to me. I wanna see if they're gonna keep protesting now that they've been kicked out of the park.

You know, it's shocking to me

You know, it's shocking to me that only 16 people have commented on this. Where are our priorities black people?!? We've been the biggest ethnic group affected by the economic down-turn and we're more concerned with Beyonce's baby bump. Bey has paper! We need to be worried about our own paper.

No one's commenting because this a gossip site. This is not the place for political news stories. I'm sure most (at least I hope so) of the people that come here are well aware about what's happening with Occupy protests.

They came like thieves in the

They came like thieves in the night...Bloomberg's Blue Shirts. They robbed us of our rights, and our possessions... all the while preventing reporters from reporting on the scene. Bloomberg, the self-proclaimed number one defender of free speech (pause for gagging), said in no uncertain terms: "yes, you have the right...the right to remain silent. So just shut up and obey". This is only the beginning dear Mayor .0001%. This WILL be your legacy- of repression. But you will NOT succeed. These mayors, governors, city councils, police chiefs, and street cops of America need to realize that it is NOT UP TO THEM whether or not Americans peaceably gather, protest, discuss, or demonstrate. It's up to a document called the US CONSTITUTION. You can beat us and arrest us and tear-gas us, you can try to "permit" us to death....but you can't kill an idea. You can't keep down a people’s hopes and dreams for a better life....for us, and for our kids. America USED to work. The people had work. The system worked (sort of). Hey, EVEN the Congress used to work (sometimes). God knows, it was far, far, far from perfect -but at least we all had some share in the struggles AND the rewards. But somewhere along the way, we lost our way. Because now we have an economy and a political system that seems to work only for the rich. With OWS America has found it’s voice, and that voice demands fairness and justice - for ALL. This land IS our land! AND WE WANT IT BACK! We want our LIVES back! We want our FUTURE back! But it’s much more than just words.... it’s much more than politics..... it’s your freakin’ LIFE, and how you want to live it, and how you WILL live it. Find a quiet place somewhere, and consider this: Each of us has only one brief life....one chance....one roll of the dice....and many choices. The time has come to choose....to risk...and to act. If not now...then when? If not you, then....who? You DO have the power my friend....and the choice IS yours. Don’t let your dreams die...

Thank you for writing that.

Thank you for writing that. Many of us are still afraid to join them On the streets, but I think the more conversation and understanding we gain, the more it will push each individual to make their stance in their own way. Yes- the 1-percent is the most wealthy, but they are scared of the 99-percent. Once we realize our power in numbers, can CAN change the world right now.

GO SIT DOWN. You think you're

GO SIT DOWN. You think you're supporting the movement with your keyboard. You're not gonna physically go on any street and protest so just go sit down. They don't need people whining on their laptops.

Evicting them (in the sense

Evicting them (in the sense that they can't camp out) is NOT taking away their freedom of speech...how in the hell can you speak when you're asleep?? They can protest during the day, and go home at night. If police tell actual homeless people they can't sleep there, why should the protesters be allowed to stay? Besides, it's my understanding that this park is private property, if the reports from early on in the movement are accurate.

"Never mind people always

"Never mind people always want to make restrictions on what others can do especially when it comes to freedom of speech.....This country is starting to become sad end the end Wall STREET wins." The protesters called the attention to wall street maybe in the future the protesters will get better results I don't think this is a win for wall street but i do think they escaPED alot of stuff they can just go on a business as usual.......MAYbe the Prosters can think of a way to get better results in the end im more "sympathetic" towards the protesters and I think wall street is a bunch of scum.

Is this the same Mayor Bloomberg who said he didnt mind them being there. Patheic!!!!!!!!! After Rudy Giuliani says something and he has others in is ears it's a different story.....Really sad. People can't exercise there rights anymore. Giuliani said "the streets aren't made for sleeping" That's not what the prostest was about but Mayor Bloomberg Budges cause of what the likes of Giulina says.

Clearly Natasha is on the "Throne's" paylist. She's been paid to make these rappers look like they're for the cause when all they want is some camera time and shine. Narcissist I tell ya. This is one of the only blogs that keep harping on how Kanye and Russel showed up. Meanwhile she only mentioned once how Raheem Devaughn and Cornel West, two individuals who actually supported the movement, were arrested during those protest. I guess they arent A list enough for her to cover, or perhaps they aren't paying to play. Don't be fooled by the propaganda. These bloggers and journalist who have no spine go into a daze and lose not only their mind but their dignity once you throw a couple of stacks their way.

ITA! I have watched this blog

ITA! I have watched this blog through the years start out neutral and slowly turn into an elite celebrity fan club. Just go through this week's post through and through and you'll see how narrow minded, and narrow focused the site has morphed into. Heck when Heavy D died, it took this site a good 3 day to even post on it. During that period, they were too busy filling us in on the latest "breaking news" of Lozanda, The Braxtons, Talk that Talk snippets, Beonce's gut full and the likes. Concrete-loop strangely enough for just a blog site has way more vital issues reporting than this. Always.

For real! I agree with both you and anonymous. I swear she is on the Roc's payroll the way she blows up Jay, B , and West. And this site has gone down the drain. I'm starting to check it less and less.
