MUSIC FAB: Olivia's "Happened To Me"

On the heels of her season 2 return to VH1's "Love & Hip Hop" reality show, Olivia Longott just dropped her upbeat new single, "Happened To Me."

The 30-year-old pretty R&B chick is serious about being known in this game for her vocals, after getting dropped a few years ago by 50 Cent & G-Unit. So Olivia dropped another track off her upcoming album after her song "December," which she debuted on the VH1 show last season, received great fan feedback.

Beautiful voice but she

Beautiful voice but she doesn't evoke emotion with her singing. And perhaps the lyrics wouldn't be compared to others if she changed it to "'cause you're the ONE thing, that I wish never happened to me." Saying BEST doesn't really make sense (as someone already stated)...Erm, what else...the vocals and arrangements kind of remind me of a signature Brandy sound. I wish her well because of her tenacity, if nothing else, however she needs SOMETHING to make her sound more current and exclusive. Good luck Olivia :-)

The song is ok. I think it could have had more feeling. But her attitude is wack, I think that's why she isn't signed. She acts like a man, female rappers are more feminine then her. she doesn't have any sex appeal unless she's in a photo, and even then that's occasionally, She's very arrogant and she needs to humble herself she WAS somebody in the music world, not any more. She seems very fake and jealous on tv too. She's a pretty girl but she acts very ugly.

This is definitely a sample of "The Things You Do" by Gina Thompson. The song is just okay, nothing spectacular. Also I think she needs to feature a rapper on this. She needs to step it up and humble herself. She comes across as very arrogant towards Somaya and it seems Somaya got some good producers, features and a mix tape out. Catch up Olivia. If this is your passion, you must did deep.

Damn that voice is beautiful; no wonder I like Olivia. I can listen to this on replay like I did "December". But "All"; now that's real vocal power, can't wait to buy the new album. Where do I begin. 1st) Olivia is a liar! She isn't signed to ANY record label like she's been saying in her interviews on radio and even on the show. She is signed to Dollaz Unlimited which is her manger's mom and pop indie label. She claimed to be signed to Universal. Girl bye. And she perpetuated this lie since last year. She also claims that she can't state what label she's on, she can't say, why? Because she's not signed. Nobody will sign her. Though she does look good for her age, she's 31. It's a wrap for her career. She's simply too old to JUST be coming out. She also claims to be in her mid twenties, but if you look at her past interviews from say 2001, she was 21 LOL, and in the 2005 there were interviews where she claimed to be 25. Olivia is a liar. I do believe she's talented, but there's just no room for her in today's market. She'd be better off becoming a baby's mother while she still has the chance. Does Olivia still live with her parents?? I can't with this girl.

Not feeling the song at all...sounds like something we already heard before.Olivia try working with some 20 year olds or something cuz the old people you got picking your music is making you sound dated. Your voice is sub par on all of your songs...it sounds like you are just doing your job to finish the song and not selling what you are singing about plus all your songs sound like you are copying what other people have already done.
