Last night, the 2011 MTV VMAs was full of surprises and exciting moments. And we've got the pics and video you didn't see from backstage and on the red carpet of the show. TheYBF.com hit the red carpet as well for The House of Hype's afterparty. See pics and on-the-scene vid inside....

Here's another angle of Nicki Minaj's outfit from the press room after her win. And we still don't understand this 'fit. Looks like she had a ball at FAO Schwartz though while rocking a velcro bodysuit. Are those stuffed animal slippers?

And Tyler The Creator walked away with "Best New Artist" and got even more silly backstage with his Odd Future homies.

He and the rest of Odd Future celebrated the win. It's just so many people in that damn group....

Earlier in the evening, TheYBF.com hit the VMAs black carpet.......

JoJo talked to us about her remake of Drake's "Marvin's Room" that was all a-buzz on Twitter and her new album which will be in stores soon. Flo Rida talked about representing Miami and working with Rick Ross and Pitbull and how happy he was to be at the awards. And his date was Miss Poland (aka the Miss Universe pageant)!

Kat Deluna revealed that she wore very little makeup with her Jose Juran dress so she could show off her freckles while Deena from the "Jersey Shore" told us that she was excited to see Lil' Wayne. We also ran into Snooki and the Cali Swag District. Meanwhile, Rick Ross gave his predictions for "Best New Artist." Check it above.

Then TheYBF.com covered the House Of Hype's after party....

Former Pussycat Doll Melody Thornton talked about her upcoming musical project and said that she predicted Beyonce's announcement!

Meanwhile Evan Ross talked about his upcoming Jeff Who Lives At Home and revealed that he just turned 23.

Also, Akon hinted that he "may" have something in the works with Katy Perry. Watch it above.

He doe's everythng he does for "shock value", but I wouldn't worry...His 15 minutes are lamost up. Hiphop/Rap has evolved into intelligence, superiorword play, even the "meshing" of genres. There is no room to go backwards.

clearly the best new artist category was rigged. even though I hate Wiz Khalifa, he definitely deserved that win and was a shoe in. who the hell is Tyler? Never heard of him and he is an embarrassment. Can he even communicate with people without cursing? He was even goin hard with cursin in front of his mother on the red carpet! Ridiculous! I did like how his mother had her moment with God lol. That was funny. But Frank ocean should have been in that category before this weirdo. They're all weirdos though

I don't agree. Wiz Khalifa is a gimmick. All he raps/sings about is WEED. Tyler the Creator is far more creative and quite frankly is a better rapper. Just because YOU never heard of Tyler (because YOU have been living under a rock) does not mean he did not deserve to win. MTV did the right thing because they know how large the WOLF GANG is. And so what if he curses? If his own mother does not have an issue with it why do you? If you don't like a person fine but try and use VALID reasons not your own ignorance. AND FYU Frank Ocean is part of ODD FUTURE.

I disagree with you...Wiz is a gimmick, however so is every dumb ass in Odd Future (minus Frank). They have got their 15 minutes with "shock value",(hense the eccessive cursing) everyone know's that, seriously, it's common knowledge! He won because MTV has to appear current and fresh, and he is the "most" current right now. And you said he was a "better rapper" than Wiz...Seriously they both are horrible! You are the only person I have ever heard credit his ryming skills, he has NO flow, I assume he writes his own "crap" because it horriblle as well and all tunes to capitalize on his shock value...And lastly, yes Frank is part of Odd Future, however he is nothing like any of them for a list of reasons one main one being "talent". However 2012: The whole rediculous group is gone with the exception of Frank Ocean. (Who I believe is still even associating with them to steal some of their 15 minutes of buzz) I'm not hating on you, just my opinion.

u have some interesting thoughts. for one...Tyler is a weirdo and is nothing special! Wiz deserved it (though I hate him also) because he is the more successful artist period. And why would I have a problem with the cursing? because its ridiculous and show lack of better words. complete ignorance!! and its not good on his mothers part. That little kid needs his mouth cleaned. And yea I know Frank ocean is a part of odd future. what does that have to do with my comment that he should have been up for the category and not Tyler?

You remind me of my best friends older brother. I think older people forget they were young. I think you just don't like Tyler and what he represents. Tyler is about counter culture and part of his "shtick" is not liking....anything or anyone. Tyler says F-You to everyone. But to me that is part of his art. And sorry Tyler is BIGGER than Wiz. This group began on the internet. Revolutions are still televised, but they get Tumblr'd, tweeted and YouTubed first. This one started last summer when music micro-bloggers began deifying a pack of nine skateboarding, freewheeling teenaged rap vandals from Los Angeles. Tyler is the leader of this collective and they are WAY more creative than people like Wiz who trust me won't last that long. Tyler and ODD future have fans like Mos Def and Kanye West. None are older than 23 but they released 3 albums so far. Odd Future has appeared in in articles by British tastemaking magazine the Wire, influential music site Pitchfork and lifestyle platform the Fader. These people represent the FUTURE and it is indeed ODD but that is part of how they are. It may not be your thing but trust me MTV knows the potential of Tyler and his band. Oh and Tyler is the group Leader not Frank. Frank should not win over Tyler two different types of artists and Frank will come out NEXT YEAR. This is TYLER's year.

You are an angry commenter! Tyler's as you say "shtick", once again is shock value. And I agree with "anonymous" lol, individuals that cure every other word lack conceptualization, wit, and descriptiveness. (That would actually explain his horrible llyricism) And the representing the future! Rap and hip/hop have came a long way, people respect the wordplay and wit, take Blakroc, some of the illest m.c.'s spitting fire while mixing in The Black keys and blending perfectly, that's the evolution of hiphop,not a kid whom say's "fuck" everyother word. That's not music, it's just dumb. There are more youtube video's and search result's on google about him doing a stupid interview than in regards to his music. And Frank would have been nominated and won, but if you remember up untill last month he was handing out his mixtape for free! While Tyler had a record deal and a couple music videos. Yes I know Frank had/has a deal as well, but he had a mixtape while Tyler had a copyrighted Album, you can't even qualify without a label officially putting out your album!

I understand you are a fan but i think he would gain more fans if he could address his music and his opinion without the interviews being riddled with curses.
