Halle Berry Cancels Broadway Plans Due To Custody Battle!

The fight for baby Nahla continues. Halle Berry was confirmed to star in the Broadway play The Mountaintop this upcoming fall. However, plans have been cancelled due to her ongoing custody battle. Read on for the deets...

Back in February, we reported that Halle and Gabriel Aubry were going back and forth with nasty accusations to gain an upper hand in the custody battle.

In the fictional production, Halle was set to portray Camae, a hotel maid at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis. Now, according to the producers' statement, the actress will no longer be starring in the play the production due to "custody issues."

The Mountaintop will still open on Broadway this Fall with Samuel L. Jackson starring as Martin Luther King, Jr. No word yet on who will replace Halle.

Actually this is FALSE. My mother divorced my father when I was 9 months and gave my father custody, she wanted to 'live her life and not be tied down' as she put it. Fast forward to my teenage years and she decides she wants to be a Mom. That natural "bond". NOT THERE. Just because you give birth to the child, doesn't mean you will always have that bond automatically. My father is my world...always has been and always will be. That's the Truth!

Halle has to loosen the reins and allow this man to share custody of his daughter. She can still travel for work and Gabe can keep the baby while she is away. I know that older moms are very possessive of their children but they are not your sole dependents. They also belong to the dad and if he wants to be a part of his child's life he should be encouraged, not discouraged.

Whats funny to me is the fact that everyone on here has some kind of negative opinion to make about Halle when in all honesty none of us really knows what she goes throught, we read the news about her life and automatically assume that the press has the right info and people run with it and continue to say negative things about her and what she does. I guess when you have no life the only time you have on your hands is use on YBF to make false assumptions about the people who are being written about the most. Interesting so many people on here seem to think the only reason he must be fighting for custody is because he wants money. Aah, guess so many of you had daddy's that didn't want you, you can't possibly conceive of the idea that some father's WANT to be in their kid's lives?! I agree. I' am still scratching my head on how they went from cordial co-parents on good terms to all of a sudden bitter and in a battle...blank stares...because it came out of left field. I don't know the details but it seems like these two need to push their egos asides and do what is best for this little girl. She is going to need both her mommy and daddy in her life period, everything else can be worked out. But trying to undermine a father's role in a child's life has gotten us as a society no where but with a bunch of sad lost kids mad at the world with a bitter chip on their shoulder. And this should hit close to home for Halle even moreso
