"D.C. Housewives" Get The AXE, Miami Out Next?

It's been rumored for months, but Andy Cohen and the execs over at Bravo just made it official yesterday. "The Real Housewives of D.C."...the only city in the "Real Housewives" franchise with a YBF chick outside of the ATL foolishness....has been cancelled.

It's the first city to get the axe, and Miami may be next. Deets when you read on...

D.C. had the potential to be a fabulous addition to the "Real Housewives," but they failed miserably with the casting and the psychologically impaired Salahis. The one cast member we liked, Stacie Turner, was really the only reason we watched.

Bravo has now announced the D.C. ladies are getting the axe, and the network is focusing on their other cities: Atlanta, New York, O.C., Beverly Hills, New Jersey, and the new Miami.

Reportedly, Miami is getting lower ratings than D.C. did. So they may be out the door next. Did anybody even watch the Miami chicks? It was barely promoted and was a replacement for New York at the time. So the show only lasted a few episodes and was abruptly ended with a random finale.

Oh wells. While the uber rich bishes of Beverly Hills are my reigning faves, I'm still waiting on the table flipping cash spending Jersey girls to make a comeback. Can't wait!

I've been a fan since the original OC episodes. I didnt even watch DC all the way through, THAT's how bad it was. And the Miami wives...all they did was set up cooking get togethers and complain about Christy not paying for the charity ticket. They didn't even get a REAL reunion. It took place in Andy's hole in the wall. The Miami and DC wives seemed too concerned with how they would look on camera and never really let the foolywang fly. They were dull.

I can't say I'm sad to see

I can't say I'm sad to see them go. The Salahis were too much and the women were for the most part average - the one who had money was so boring. Bravo wanted movers and shakers in DC and got the next door neighbors - not very fab IMO. I can't wait for Miami to get the ax, I watched half of one episode and was over it already. The OC is next on my list, those chicks are getting more broke as each day goes by. Love my Beverly Hills, its my new fave; ATL and NY. If they can bring some outsiders in Jersey rather than 4 chicks from the same family, I'll be ok with it, til then, they can go too. Can't stand Teresa and her eyebrow-touching hairline.

Sure D.C. was cancelled because the execs did not go to the neighborhoods that make up D.C. to get housewives representative of D.C.. that would be Black women and perhaps 1 or 2 white ones. D.C. will always be chocolate city to me.

I liked the DC version, shrugs. Probably was the only one. Like someone said up there, it was nice to see some of the Housewives save for Michele with um....an actual job? That actually did something other than sit around and eat but actually WORK! Sad that the one that was canceled had relatable people on the show.

I consider myself a self proclaimed real housewives expert, lol ...b/c i have been watching faithfully since the very beginning with the start of the OC women, and i have got to say i saw this coming before DC even aired their first episode b/c just the previews alone were boring as hell. and i agree that Miami is not too far behind them, just the fact that they could only get 6 semi-good episodes out of them said a lot. and the fact that bravo didn't even bother renting a venue for the reunion and had it on watch what happens live also speaks volumes.

well the good thing is that ALL of the DC women have REAL jobs, careers, succesful business to carry on with. you cant take established business women, and put them on a franchise such as housewives (which is based off of drama) and expect it do well. they are to professional for that. Just have to say that these housewives seem shocked when no one wants to watch thme. I love Stacy on DC but honestly, everyone that I know has a story....adopted, childhood problems, family issues, ect. These ladies were too ordinary....with the exception of the Salahis (they had real drama) and sadly, that is what we watch reality TV for, drama. Otherwise, we would turn to CNN. Thes are ordinary women not celebraties. I can go over to big mama's or my girlfriend shaniqwa's house if I want to see drama unfold amid ordinary women. Yes some of them have extra money but so what, we want drama and personality. Just like the daytime soaps and talk shows. It's not enough to just be rich, dress nice, have rich baby daddy's, and have lunch with one another. With the exception of being rich this is an everyday thing for a lot of us. We want something worth watching. Yeah to Stacy, she was beautiful and one of the most lovely people on any one of these housewive shows, but, thank God for her, she did not have enough drama. Now, that Theresa from Jersy...(husband arrested, fighting, foreclosure, cursing)..that's drama. Or, NeNe and Kim.....(love it!!). Oh and them basketball wives...take the cake...just tacky and drama filled...I'll keep watching. I agree to ax the shows that a lot of people don't want to tune in to watch.
