If you or someone you know has children you would realize that it is impossible to monitor your child 24/7. I primarily listen to gospel, jazz and talk radio, yet at school or while with other family members my daughter and son are still exposed to other types of music. I can teach them what I believe is or isnt appropriate, but it does not mean they are exempt from exposure. It is sad when people try to throw "monitor your children" around with such a heavy weight since the fact is they are not only influenced by us as parents. Im not implying this as an excuse not to monitor or teach our children our belief of appropriate/inappropriate, just that its not always a solid gaurantee that our children wont hear songs or see videos that we wouldnt want them to. (I heard NM's "Right thru Me" over my aunts house, although Ive never played it in my home my daughter was making her lunch humming the chorus. When i asked her where did u hear that she said oh my friend has it on her ipod. So even though folks can easily point the monitor finger, we need to keep that part in mind.
