According to the New York Times, The Oprah Winfrey Network is expected to turn a profit in its first year...a full year before previous forecasts predicted.

Oprah indeed has the golden touch with 25 successful years in TV, a record-breaking magazine launch and now her OWN channel is kicking butt right out the gate. The profit forecast for 2011 is based on ad acceptance and good performance, which the Times reports is great so far. Get it Lady O!

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs announced today that he will depart the West Wing to head up Barack Obama's re-election campaign.

The departure will take place in early February, after President Obama delivers his State of the Union speech to the new Congress. As a private consultant, Robert will remain a top political adviser to the president as the re-election campaign gears up. So far, no replacement has been named. You ready for 2012?

Thank you! The problem with the American culture is that it is a greedy one and doesn't want to sacrifice to help get this country back on track but wants to sit around complaining all day. People in this country need to admit the fact that this nation is in the mess its in today because it put itself here, so stop blaming everyone else and take a look in the mirror. The nerve of anyone complaining about a salary freeze when there are millions without jobs. Obama and his wife have spent half their lives dedicated to community work, they have put their money where their mouth is. They dont have sh*t to prove about what they have done for the middle class.

i did like the JayZ piece that O did. everything else just seemed like something i already seen on another channel but i'll probably tune in for the Master Pieces. sooo Obama really headed for 2012? i hope he's been prayed up bc the bullets are about the fly and if u follow politics like i do..this is gonna be fierce!

I admire Oprah's business

I admire Oprah's business sense, but I have to say that I think it's doing well now because it is so new. If the line-up doesn't change (read: diversify), I think she will lose viewers. I'm not a fan of her show, so I haven't watched much...and haven't seen much that I'm interested in. I think that the die-hard fans will eat it up, but I imagine that some of those fans don't have cable/satellite.
