The Kennedy Center Honors will be taped at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington on December 5 and broadcast by CBS as a two-hour television special on December 28.
Oprah will join Former Beatle Sir Paul McCartney, country music's Merle Haggard, choreographer and dancer Bill T. Jones and lyricist-composer Jerry Herman ("Hello, Dolly!") as a receipient.
Tiger Woods was invited to represent the United States in the upcoming Ryder Cup tournament, one of the most prestigious events in the sport. Despite not being the hottest golfer in the game right now, Tiger's body of work won him the invitation as he is one of the the greatest players the sport has ever seen.

To the person who says Oprah wears weaves, so what at least you have seen her real hair compared to other celebrities who have worn weaves everyday of their life. What she has been able to accomplish in the world of entertainment and business is nothing short of amazing. I remember reading that all her grandmother wanted for her was to grow up and work for some "good" white folk because during her time that was scene as a good thing. Discoloration of the eyes can be cause by other things DUMB @$$! such as sickle cell anemia, liver damage (not entirely due to hepatitis, kidney damage, food poisoning, low iron, etc., etc.
