Jaime Foxx Lands Own Sketch Comedy Show + Diddy Responds To Age Discrimination Lawsuit

FOX recently announced that it has picked up a new sketch comedy produced by Jamie Foxx.

The show is tentatively called “The Jamie Foxx Project” and will debut in the upcoming 2010-2011 television season. It will be a half-hour show similar to “In Living Color” offering a fresh take on pop culture, with spoofs of commercials, TV shows, and celebrities.

Kevin Reilly, President of Entertainment at FOX said, "“Jamie Foxx’s brilliance first shined on FOX, so it’s fantastic to welcome him back to the network.”

Trouble in Bad Boy land. A 51-year-old music executive known as "the Mom" or "Auntie" at Bad Boy Records is suing Sean "P. Diddy" Combs for $12 million claiming that she was fired for being old and disabled.

Francesca Spero says in her lawsuit that she is "renowned for launching the careers of various urban music figures, including Combs" but had a falling out with him after being laid up with hip surgery in 2008.

Spero says Diddy told her she could no longer "run around" and earned too much money for "someone who could no longer keep up with his fast-paced lifestyle," according to her lawsuit.

A spokesperson for Sean Combs released a statement saying,

"This is a grab for money by someone who concedes in her complaint to having had a drug relapse while on the job and an employer who was not satisfied with her work. There are many reasons why Ms. Spero is no longer employed by Bad Boy, but age discrimination is not one of them."

Seems like Diddy is prepared to take this to court if need be. We will keep you posted as the story develops.

if she takes her case to the EEOC.. Diddy's money won't matter because if they find against him the EEOC will sue him and then it will be up to a judge. Plus releasing that statement he has violated all kinds of personnel information and potential HIPPA violations. This will settle.

I remember some years ago jamie said he was working on a sketch comedy show he wanted to call deez nuts. I wonder if this is the same concept he tried to get off the ground after they reworked some things. sketch comedies dont seem to last long and be very funny these days cedrics was horrid and he is super talented. Diddy proves time and time

Diddy proves time and time again that he is an asshole of epic proportions. Who says something like that about somebody in a released statement, talking about their past drug use and all? It's obvious he's already fighting dirty trying to embarrass or discredit her. I hope already that she wins and wins big too but sadly he has the means to drag the case out and throw lawyer after lawyer on it and that's probably what he'll do. What would be great is if she has some secret dirt on him he doesn't know she has, if so you'll see this case get settled quickly and quietly.
Um, probably won't be watching Jamie's show though I like him. It's just that sketch comedy shows and Black ones in particular tend to revisit tired topics that are racially exploitive and not last anyway so wish him the best but won't be breaking my neck to tune in.
