Lakers Baller Shannon Brown DEFENDS His Relationship With Monica, Says She's NOT A Homewrecker!

Ever since hottie L.A. Laker Shannon Brown became Monica's love interest in her recent video for "Love All Over Me", Mo and Shannon have been seen together looking very much on couple status in real life.

In addition to folks catching on to their new boo'd up status, Monica's also rumored to be his homewrecker! But Shannon cleared the air today. And we've got his statement when you read on...

Apparently while Shannon and Monica have been toting around coupled up and cutesy over the past month, folks were confused because he was supposedly still with Sharde, the mother of his 1 year old son. Sharde was even riding on the Championship parade float right next to Shannon right after the Lakers won their NBA title this summer.

But Mr. Brown (no relationship to Chris even though they look like they could be brothers) took to Twitter today to clear up the rumors. He Tweeted:

I write this to set the record straight. Media deception makes unfair and false reports of the truth, and it does not bring out the best in ANYONE. Monica is my girlfriend, confidant and a strong successful women that has been though a lot herself but she is in no way, a home wrecker. As a parent, I understand that parenting requires a partnership with my sons mother however the relationship between us fizzled a long time ago. Thus, never leading up to seven years, engagement or even talks of marriage. As parents, we have to continue to raise our son, and as individuals we both deserve happiness.” Thank you for the support and God Bless! -SB

Well there you have it. He confirms Monica is his girlfriend and says that he and Sharde aren't (and haven't been for a long time) together or engaged, let alone married.

On a side note, this dude is ka-yute. And after the break up with Rocko? Upgrade. Get it Monica!

Well, personally I feel that Monica is being mature about the situation and so is Shannon. He must like her to diffuse the situation before it got out of hand. Another, Monica has been in the industry for quite sometime and we have never heard anything negative about her "other than a hater speaking out." She has always carried herself like a woman and adult in her younger years. What makes you think she would start being immature now. Some of these post are kind of crazy. Just because you didnt see them boo'd up in a video doesnt mean they dont love each other. At that moment they could have been just that, acting in a video and took it a step further afterwards. I am happy for them. He seems mature and so does she. Someone stated not verbatim that its not an upgrade because they are not married, well now they are but then, you have to start from somewhere. So, as far as what Monica see for herself its an upgrade. I can go on and on just off the maturity level of the two of them but I'm not because I know its an old post. As far as her being jealous of Keisha, hmmmm naaah. I highly doubt that. I love Keisha Cole too, but how can you be jealous of someone who is trying to get on your level? Homewrecker? Hell, I was with my kids father yesterday and we ARE NOT together, we parent together and he is a boxer and I have been by his side with my kids when he won a bout! There is no reason why she and their child can't celebrate his victory, they should. People need to get off that negative ish and learn that even when it doesn't work out, your kids NEED to see a united front at all times. I guess no one can be happy either and everyone has to be a cheater...he clearly professed that he and Monica are indeed in a relationship and that he and his baby's mother are parents to their child and nothing else. There are broken families but some people still make the best of it for their children. Congrats to Monica. I really like some of her music. But this should serve as a LESSON to Women who have children for men BEFORE they are married. Just having a child does not ensure anything for you. And I personally think men don't respect you. Lebron James' BABY MOTHER should take note because this is EXACTLY what will happen to HER. His ex gf waited 8 years and never got a ring from him, he proposed to me after a year and gave me an exact list of reasons why he never saw her as wife material. It was sad, so I say again..know your worth and respect yourself

ok I see what you mean, I used her as an example but in no way do i think all the blame lies with her, my take on it is both failed. Because if a relationship isnt going anywhere it shouldnt have taken eight years to end it. I definitely hold men to the same level of responsibilty though. My main question is....IS EVERY WOMAN WHO DATES A MAN WITH A CHILD AND HIM AND THE MOTHER OF THE CHILD PREVIOUSLY HAD A RELATIONSHIP A HOME WRECKER? People aren't thinking about the fact that the man is in the eye of the public most of the time...so for the sake of the public, maybe him and the mother of his child played that "happy home" role...or maybe even for the sake of the child they tried to put forth an effort to make it work...but it just couldn't but I don't see Monica as a home wrecker...but I do suggest that she keeps her eyes and ears open at all times...b/c men who have kids and previous serious relationships with the mother of that child...can possibly get back together leaving her calling a "taxi"...but do i think that she is a home wrecker? First of all, my HUSBAND asked to marry me because he wanted to NOT because he had to. There was no baby involved forcing him to marry me. So you can't categorize all black men because you haven't met ALL black men. His comment may be accurate AND yes as you stated, they may have still been sleeping with one another...So what!!! They are both adults and if there relationship was in fact over a while ago and they decided to continue to sleep with each other after-wards, it is NOT cheating.
