I totally disagree. i think the movie will be quite entertaining. This is a movie with an african american cast that does not feature sex, crime, drugs or any other form of coonery.... I will be on line aug. 20th ready to support my people. i wish mr. cube good luck in all of his future endeavors. that man is a true role model for these young brothers.

on anthoner note, naturi has no neck. i like bow wow's get up. while he is one of the biggest coons, it gives off a malcolm look.... maybe it's the glasses. not feeling angela's ensemble. i'm all for the peek a boo bra look but it just doesn't work well in this case. LOVES me some jason weaver.

I think if you look at film there are many types of Films. The point people are making is that when it comes to movies targeted to African American audiences they tend to be the same types of movies. They are not diverse. And this idea that you have to support a film of project just because it's made by an African American is insane. In general movies you have directors like Kubrick, Spielberg, Wes Anderson, Wilt Stillman, Woody Allen, Ridley Scott, etc. There are many things to see. But with movies targeted to African Americans you don't have diversity because number 1, those films are not supported by these audience because they mostly like the same types of films. Which are movies by Tyler Perry, Ice Cube and those types of people. This is why we keep seeing The Cook Out, Soul Plane, Takers and The Lottery Ticket. These movies are all the same types of films which border on victimization, or coonish hood comedies. Where is Avatar directed by an African American? OR other types of comedies that don't Star Queen Latifah or Bow Wow. I think it's important to be more critical and to stop supporting these types of movies it's not self hating. Self hating is watching these stereotypical characters that are mistaken for actual people. And the sad part of some of these fictionalized people reflect some real people in the communities because people are not being educated and value the wrong things. It's time to make more informed decisions. And stop relegating things you don't agree with as "hating". It's much deeper than that. And if you can't express your point of view the self hate is coming from you not others. If you loved yourself or your communities you would take action and demand better. And stop allowing Hollywood and the Entertainment communities to define who you really are.
