Lil Wayne Gives First Interview From Rikers Island

Weezy isn't going to let us forget him while he's away. Funkmaster Flex chit chatted it up with Lil Wayne while Weezy finishes up his year long sentence at Rikers Island. He talks Nicki and Drake not answering his calls, what his typical day is like, and other ish.

Here are the highlights:

Wayne is dropping his new album The Carter IV this November. Releasing a mixtape only on the net this September.
He says fans can talk to him via his website WeezyThanxYou.com.
He hasn't listened to any music in Rikers, just his thoughts and sports.
He wants to record with Andre 3000 and Tek 9 when he gets out.
He calls Drake and Nicki Minaj, who he jokingly calls his future wife, 3-4 times a week but they pick up about once a week. He calls Mack Maine every single day. But he doesn't like to call most people because he doesn't want to "bother" folks.
A day in his life in Rikers: Wake up at noon, calls his kids and Mack Maine, reads/responds to fan mail till dinner, gets on the phone again, then lights out.
Dinner sucks.
He will "move more carefully" when he gets out.

Semi-automatic guns attract trouble in the same way shit attracts flies. It is clear a lot of people are yet to grasp this concept but at least one things for sure, Lil Wayne knows this now. Let's hope all the free weezy/gun loving fans don't feel let down when he gets out of jail a changed man. In fact if he could throw ya'll a curve ball and start doing some gospel (or at the very least consciencious) rap it would be even better! :-)

It just bugs me to no end

It just bugs me to no end when people shoot from the lips and do not even know half of the story. Let see if this clear up some misconceptions about the crime Wayne was charged with, so here goes.....Wayne was charged with having a semi-automatic gun that the cops took from his tour bus after a concert two years ago in New York. The cops who boarded the tour bus said they saw him toss the gun into a Louis Vuitton knapsack. The knapsack also contained a prescription bearing Wayne's given name, Dwayne Carter. The gun belonged to another associate of Wayne who was on the bus and was willing to accept responsibility for the gun. The associate had a legal permit for the gun in his home state, just not in the state of New York. The associate collects the money after the concerts. Prosecutors took a hard line, that "possession," under the strict legal sense of the word, means having control over the gun, and doesn't necessarily mean outright ownership. In other words, Wayne was the bus owner, the gun was on his bus, and the cops who boarded the bus said they saw him toss the gun in the LV knapsack. Prosecutors charged the man with the name that would make the bigger headlines, thus Wayne caught the charged. GOOGLE is your friend if you just use it. And this, JMO.... two years ago was an election year, perhaps the DA wanted to get re-elected, the bigger name would win the election for him.

Regardless of who the gun belonged to, in most places in the US , the owner of the vehicle would take the fall. Well, its good to see the Weezy is holding his head. Now, I dont feel sorry for him whatsoever I mean, the man did he crime, he doing the time, so Im not screaming "FREE WEEZY!!" No, Im sorry, I think he a good rapper, however, I prefer drake cause he raps and sings. But I do think that people need to realize that this man should not be considered a hero cause he freely promoted drugs, and the man is a rolling stone. The guy has like 100 kids. So I hope he does some self reflection while hes in jail and I hope he gets his head on straight.

Umm - newsflash - Lil’ Wayne is not a political prisoner; the community is galvanizing behind him like he went to jail defending the rights or the impoverished and downtrodden. It’s laughable. His net worth is estimated to be $75 million dollars, an unfathomable amount of money for most people and he spends his time impregnating a harem of women, being overly materialistic, promoting violence and drug addiction. At some point, the African American community needs to reassess our heroes. The fact that the crime he committed was not harmful to anyone was not my point. My point was people are always screaming Free "insert name here". They are in prison/jail for a reason.
