The fact that this poor girl

The fact that this poor girl was saved from a sexual assault by her brother and all people can do is laugh at them for the way they talk is sickening. I watched the video and didn't laugh once and I'm white. The even sadder part is that more people in the general public aren't more outraged at the fact that instead of being applauded as a hero, this guy is applauded/laughed at for the way he talks. This is the first forum I've found where at least 1/3 of the people were disgusted by this mockery...and I've been searching long. Rape is evil and wrong and all I saw was a man responding to the fact that his sister was almost subjected to this evil act. I hope the brother has enough sense to turn his newly found fame into a platform to speak against rape and sexual assault.

If you are MORE concerned with what others think or perceive of you so that you can't be true to who you are, then guess what? They have power over you!!!! Quit worrying about what white folks or any other race think of you because you will never be able to please some, no matter what you do!!! BTW, you may not like Southern accents, which I proudly have by the way, but to make such an unfounded generalization is ignorant. But then again, I guess you are in step with most of the comments on this post. All a lot of the comments on this post involve people spewing stereotypes and generalizations, which is sad. It's sad because as long as we continue operating under a false consciousness and false perception regarding the true social ills in America, then there will never be a solution to problems facing not only black communities but other affected demographics. One last thing... this woman was almost raped. I am fortunate to have been afforded the opportunities necessary to earn my law degree and to have a lucrative career....but please believe.....had it been me or my sister, I would have had the same sentiments as the people featured in the videos.

i worked at a local TV news station as a producer. from reading these posts I can tell those with conspiracy theories to stop. the reporter, photographer and producer did not "go after" these folks with the intention of making them look bad. I get what you're trying to say, but your statement is pretty ignorant. Africa is not some sort of hub for such behaviour. Just as much as there are well-educated, smart Black individuals in North America or "the West", there is an equal amount in the continent of Africa. And the same goes for the opposite - you can find ignorant people everywhere you go on this Earth (that's a no-brainer). It never ceases to amaze me how many people there are out there who don't question stereotypes or, at the very least, who publicly display their belief in them.
