Afternoon Swexiness: Idris Elba

Sexy British man Idris Elba will be gracing the cover of August's issue of Ebony magazine and I am DEFINITELY gonna go pick this one up. More on Idris' cover and his new movie Takers when you read on.

In the August issue of Ebony cover man Idris Elba tops the list of summer's sexiest 10 stars who bring the heat and I'm sure we can ALL understand why. Not only is he starring in two movies this year but he's also FINE!

In his movie Takers coming out August 27th (also starring T.I., Chris Brown, Michael Ealy and Zoe Saldana) Idris' character Gordon Jennings leads a band of thieves through one last job. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing Idris playing another bad boy role like Stringer Bell.

In a recent CNN interview Idris talks about his career as well as having to play an American.

On his career:

There's a sweet spot which I feel like I haven't reached yet," he says. "One is to be able to choose the roles I want and when I work and there are aspects of my creativity that I am tapping into but I haven't been able to turn into a business model yet. I'm not quite there.

On playing American:

There's a bigger challenge for me when I play American, but I'm up for the challenge, Hugh Laurie [from the television drama 'House'] said it once, he said 'Being British and showing up on an American set with an American accent is like playing tennis with a fish.' I get that and I'm always aware of the accent.

Lucky for Idris his character in Takers is British like him. I love me a man with an accent!

Oh and whoever mentioned the thing about the cover pic not being the best choice...agreed. He does look darker and for some reason a little sweaty or something, all the other pics just in this post would have made a better cover, except maybe the BET awards one.
LOVE the last pic where he's staring down and I can just picture myself on a bed in some sexy lingerie where I was waiting and he just got home and is looking at me like that and then he starts taking his clothes off slowly piece by piece and I'm just going crazy in anticipation cause I know what's next and....okay, um yeah.
