FOOLYWANG MATERIAL: Are You Serious Soulja Boy?

Because Supermaning and Supersoaking hoes wasn't enough...Soulja Boy Tell 'Em went and said even more idiotic ish. Here is Toure's (of BET) recap of his recent convo on The Black Carpet with Soulja Boy: ...Then came Soulja Boy Tell Em. I asked him, “What historical figure do you most hate?” He was stumped. I said, "Others have said Hitler, bin Laden, the slave masters..." He said, "Oh wait! Hold up! Shout out to the slave masters! Without them we'd still be in Africa." My jaw, at this point, was on the ground."We wouldn't be here," he continued, having no idea how far in it he'd stepped, "to get this ice and tattoos." We're HOURS away from electing a black President, and this is the type of ish coming from this boy's mouth? GTFOH. As usual, I blame BET. (J/K...kinda) I have no other words. Besides the fact that Soulja is thisclose to being thrown in the same boiling hot ass water as Chicago's wackest--Yung Berg. Stay in school kids. Or at least get a damn tutor. And by the way Soulja Boy... The original post surrounding Soulja Boy's comments when you read the rest...   Here's the entire story: Our music critic calls Soulja Boy on the carpet. One of the biggest songs in the country last year was an inane, sex-chant-infused Southern rap called "Crank That (Soulja Boy)," by young Soulja Boy Tell Em, from tiny Batesville, Mississippi, population 7,113. Soulja Boy Tell Em turned 18 this summer and is looking forward to voting for the first time. His monster hit song included repeated assertions of a cartoonishly absurd sex act: supermanning, or as he elaborated repeatedly in the song, "that ho," which means to come on a woman's back and then put a sheet over her so it sticks to her back and she looks like she’s wearing a cape. Ridiculous stuff. He also chants repeatedly, "Supersoak that ho,” the meaning of which needs no explanation, given the neighborhood we're already in. These are ludicrous suggestions that play into the Cro-Magnon conception of men using sex and sperm to attack and slay women. It's such a mean-spirited vision of sex that every time I heard the record I thought, I bet that before this came out, he was a virgin. Last week in Atlanta, I got to interview Soulja Boy Tell Em. I found out just how young he really is. He was one of about ten rappers I interviewed in one day for my BET show, The Black Carpet. I decided it'd be fun to give all the rappers part of the Proust questionnaire. I thought it'd be a way to get beyond image and into who they really are. Most of the guys gave good, thoughtful, intelligent, sensitive answers. I asked Juelz Santana, “How would you like to die?” He said, "Loved." Then came Soulja Boy Tell Em. I asked him, “What historical figure do you most hate?” He was stumped. I said, "Others have said Hitler, bin Laden, the slave masters..." He said, "Oh wait! Hold up! Shout out to the slave masters! Without them we'd still be in Africa." My jaw, at this point, was on the ground."We wouldn't be here," he continued, having no idea how far in it he'd stepped, "to get this ice and tattoos." Wow. Never mind that diamonds come from Africa. Never mind that there were many generations of pain in between leaving Africa and getting diamonds. Never mind that the long-term cataclysmic effects of subtracting about tens of millions of young, strong people from Africa over the course of a couple of centuries is a large part of the reason why Africa now appears so distasteful to you. Never mind all that, Soulja Boy. You put country first.

Thank you brit girl, I would

Thank you brit girl, I would not have say better! Obama has not the same history as many africans american, because his father was not a slave descent. Everything happens for a reason but if his father had been an african american, maybe he would not have this look upon history with no weight on his shoulders.

to chick magnet thought about

to chick magnet thought about it.......... but sorry no the most powerful man is not there because of slavery, obama's dad was a kenyan. please know your facts before you write rubbish. to think that being in america is a right of passage to success is backwards way of thinking. there are black people who are succedding on there own merit not because of their birth place and that is regardless of whether they are from the west indies, africa or african american but becaue of their own determination to succeed. believe it or not their are problems in the black community in britain with our fellows stuck on housing estates (projects) and having the highest numbers in prison, sound familiar. know that you cannot owe your success to a white man but to yourself. so no i have no thanx for the the slave owners. and also there are comments above that say that even people with degrees say the stupidest thing. know you history, control your future.

Even though soulja boy might have been wrong for saying "shout out to the slave masters...", whether we want to believe it or not he is right. My [black] history proffesor said the same thing, we african americans would not be where we are today if it wasnt for slavery, period. Everything happens for a reason and because of slavery, a black man is on the verge of becoming the most powerful man in the world. Slavery was bad but the suffering paid off, think about it..........................................................................

Man...Does anyone else ever

Man...Does anyone else ever think that when JESUS returns, he's gonna have brown to dark skin, and all the white people ain't gonna know what to do??? I think that every time I see a picture of a white JESUS, as if they had Kodak back then they always draw the same picture, when the Bible says he had hair like wolves. And if ya'll need to put something into perspective...Africa is a CONTINENT. The entire CONTINENT is not poor, in need of clean water. They have universities. And there aren't too many Africans coming her for medical care either. The US is a COUNTRY. North America...the continent it is in. This country was built by negros...so the next time you wanna thank the slave masters...thank yo ancestors for what you have, 'cause they not only built the first universities, but they fought hard for us to be able to attend them. White people should be thanking the slaves.

Some of yall asking if we

Some of yall asking if we know our History, don't know African history. The Africans were sold as indentured servants...to be paid. The slaves in Africa were not treated like the slaves in America. Read about it. They definitely weren't sex slaves, bred like cattle, and worked for no money. Look it up. The kings and people in charge in Africa couldn't have known what was happening in America with their people...no TV, radio, or anything. That's like your mama sending you to France to work, and you become a slave. Back then you couldn't call her to let her know.

The only thing changing

The only thing changing because of Obama is his address. We still gonna be broke, we are still going to have disadvantages and we are still going to have people who don't take advantage of their opportunities. Obama is one man improving his circumstances. It is time for us to to do the same. Obama isn't special. There are millions of Obamas and some even better who are out there but lacked the courage and discipline to strive for more. They stopped dreaming and settled. Here is a Junior Senator who lacks experience but makes up for it with intelligence. We all had hope before Obama arrived on the scene, he just made some people feel comfortable in dreaming again. The change he's talking about has to happen inside ourselves. I made that change in my life years ago before I even knew who he was. Others need to look within themselves and make the same change. Not cause someone inspired them to do what was required of them in the first place but because they finally saw it in themselves. I'm glad we are about to have the first black President but his election is not going to improve my life without me getting up from this keyboard and doing for myself. Souljah Boy needs education. That right there was a failure with his parents not the government. Things like this start at home then manifests in the school system then eventually society. Start at home people. Obama can't make that change but an active mom and dad can.
