Janet and JD were spotted taking in the Dior Haute Couture show yesterday in Paris for Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week:

With his extra cute self... -I actually think that JANET looks nice :( -And those Dior shoes are RIDICULOUS..in good way :)

WOooooow. The shoes are FAB. I'm loving the evolution of the gladaitor and platform heels. And for a vertically challenged girl like me, the 1" platform makes wearing 5" inch heels not so painful... depending on the arch... anywho, getting too technical! If I had the money I'd buy them I would, but the thing is, these designs are geared towards the lucky ladies who get chauffered around in limo's everywhere they go. Must be nice!!

Me personally would jump at the opp to support oneo f my own. I wont go out and drop 1000.oo on a dior shoe or gown. but these are the designers that put out what we like and want to see.

There are several Designers

There are several Designers who happen to be African American who don't emblazen their clothes with enormous logos. Ever heard of Tracy Reece, Edward Wilkerson of Lafayette 148, Kevan Hall, Shaka King, Jeffery Banks, Toni Whittaker, B Michael, Anthony Liggins, Byron Lars, Amsale, etc.??? Media exposure is very important to each of these designers and without it they can not be brought to the masses. The fashion media is no different than the regular media, meaning that black people are not the primary focus and yet we waste our money in droves with fashion houses who don't even advertise to us. I too am guilty of looking because that's about all I'm going to do. I love Dior too, but was Chanel Iman the only model of color on the runway with the exception of a few Asian models?

I have to say though NAMES just don't do it for me. I like an item because of how it looks not because of whose name appears on it. In fact, I don't want the name shown. Big DG, Phat, etc. whatever, etc. just turns me off. Sometimes I think people just like it because of "who" made it not because of how it looks (some of these things look so impractical and these celebs jump in and out of cars, they're not walking up and down all day all around town in those shoes and even they admit, just from standing on the red carpet, their feet are killing them) and that is a big turn off too. Just-wanted-2-say that, that's all.
