I think Mariah looks great! I have no problem with the way she dresses. She's an entertainer after all. I expect a certain flamboyance. She's single (I think) and no children and earns her own money and is blazing her own trail. She can walk around in saran wrap and I'd still give her props for being super talented and working live a government mule to get and maintain her status on the charts. She may seem like a ditz but industry people who've worked with her will tell she is one hell of a business woman and a terrific songwriter. She's obviously lost some weight and it looks good on her. I was about 20 pounds overweight. As soon as I hit 35 my metabolism came to a crawl. I finally had to bite the bullet and stop eating junk food like I was still 16, get to a gym or exercise tape 5 times a week, kick my sugar habit and drink more water. Water will fill you up so you don't cram yourself with food. I'm sure that slowed-metabolism got Mariah too. I think think the term thick is very overused and often used improperly. I don't consider someone clearly overweight with rolls, back fat, bra overhang, double chins, and no visible waist line thick. But they will use that term to describe themselves every time. I do consider Jennifer Hudson, Raven (though I adore her), Monique, Jill Scott, Carmyn Manheim (to throw a white girl in there) Fat. Overweight. And while I don't think anyone should be so skinny to the point were they don't even get a period (Keira Nightly), I believe people need to seek the advice of a doctor to figure out what is the ideal weight range for their frame rather than delude themselves about the additional 35 to 100 pounds they are carrying. I also don't believe that the majority of Black men "love them some fat women". I think it's simply difficult for a man to say to his women, he no longer finds her attractive because she's heavy. So most pretend they like the weight. I think most men Black and White are disgusted and turned off to see any woman eating so much, gaining weight, and not doing one thing to try to be healthy. Also most fat women don't know that their weight gain my attributed to something medical which can be corrected like PCOS, under or overactive thyroid, insulin resistance, depression...and I'm sure there are many others. So it's important to see a doctor and discuss your weight whether you are thin, fat, or average.

Mariah does look hot for 39; she looks better than your average 21 year old chick. I am just sick of the damn fans!!!! Let your hair sit still sometimes!!! Every video and every photo shoot I know there are 20 damn fans blowing around her!

Santogold is Young, Black, and Fabulous. She's been around since 2001. She wrote nearly every song RES debut album, has credits with Graph Nobel, Ashlee Simpson, and she fronted a rock band named Stiffed. No, you will not catch this chick rocking Jimmy Choos and and vintage Chanel gown, but she is smart, creative, and insightful. I would roll with her anyday over Mimi, Keyshia, Tracee, Jill Marie Jones, Keri, Cassie, or anyone else who has praised heaped on them because they dress in couture and hit a red carpet.
