The First Annual Essence Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon went down yesterday afternoon. Jada Pinkett Smith and others were honored at the bash, held at the Beverly Hills Hotel, for their work in Hollywood and in the African-American community. I swear Tom just randomly appear at damn near every event for black folks.  And he always seems to be right over Willada's shoulders just peeking out at the right times.  I guess he was there to offer up some friendly words of support for Jada.  I just wonder if he took this opportunity to send some subliminal Scientology messages to the audience.  Y'all know that dude stays on recruit mode. Will gave an emotional tribute to his wife. How can you not love these two? Editor In Chief of Essence magazine Angela Burt Murray gave some words. Latanya Richardson was there. So was President of Essence Michelle E. Banks. A newly single Tracey Edmunds stepped out looking nice. I really hope this S-Curl is for a new movie role Will. Or favorite party hopper hit up the event: Gabby of course.  Looking fabulous as usual. Garcelle stepped out looking fab in a green trench dress. Ruby Dee was honored as well. What?  No white for Lisa.  Kerry Washington was there to speak a few words.  And looked oh so fabulous in Elie Saab Couture while doing so. I see Paula's baby bump is on disappear mode again. Denzel's wife Pauletta was there. Viv Fox still has that ultra surprised look at all times. Salli Richardson made an appearance. Suzanne de Passe was honored as well. Looking good Mrs. Jones. Holly Robinson Peete was there.
