National Wear Red Day
Feb 01 | by Natasha
Today, February 1st not only kicks off Black History Month, but it also kicks off the Go Red For Women "This Is The Day" Campaign. Gor Red For Women is a national movement founded by the American Heart Association to help you to fight back against the No. 1 killer of American women. Today, the near-term goal is nothing less than a 25% reduction in coronary heart disease and stroke risk by the year 2010. As they work toward that goal, they are working hard to change the perception that heart disease is a "man's disease."
Join with thousands of women, companies and organizations and cities across America today. By wearing red and making a donation, you'll help the American Heart Association support ongoing research and education about women and heart disease. Another way to join the celebration is to Shop Go Red by selecting Go Red apparel, accessories and more.
Heart disease affects an extraordinary number of women, but the affects on African American women are even more shocking. The good thing is, most heart diseases are 100% preventable.
Go Red and stay fabulous!
